I was just wondering how come the rackshack servers come with linux 7.2? WHy dont they update the new ones to 7.3 it has been around for a while now and ifoyour doing a fresh install on a new server why bother with 7.2 its no extra eefort.. Or is there a logical reason. Sorry if this question sounds dumb.

Well. If, it's an Ensim server then I don't think Ensim supports 7.3

There isn't much difference between 7.2 and 7.3. 7.3 is mostly a desktop upgrade. Rackshack probably didn't even bothered buying the CD.

I am quite sure i have seen ensim and rh 7.3 toghether. As an offe somewhere before.
And yes i was refering to ensim and redhat as a unit. But you look at their site and even the plain red hat ones are only 7.2.
Also i am positive my friend has a intel celeron one that runs 7.3 and ensim. he updated it himself(dont quote me as yet) I will confirm though.

From what I know, ensim 3.1 only runs on 7.2. And Ensim heavily customize their packages, so its not like plesk where you can just try 7.3.

I would be interested to see your confirmation.

i undestand what youre saying i was looking as from the point of presentation to the end customer. Thats all.. It looks to them like youre upto date and running the latest and greatest as such to speak . Thats all i mean . As its easier to put it on a empty server then upgrading .
