Specification for DVD-Critic.Net Review Area Early Draft 25th June 2002

What's needed:

1. A Review System.
2. An admin interface.
3. A members interface (preferably integrated with vBulletin's members database).
4. A search/display review interface
5. Integrate vB's member signup.

Breakdown of Admin Interface:

1. Authentication to log in using sessions.
2. Ability to Add reviews
3. Ability to Edit reviews
4. Ability to delete reviews
5. Ability to edit/delete members comments on reviews
6. Logout feature.
5. Add/edit/delete fields to the review section ie
- Genre (Action, Adventure, Adult, Anime, Cartoon, Comedy, Drama, Educational,
Family, Horror, Music, Sci-Fi, TV, Thriller)
- Region (0,1,2,3,4,5,6)
- Certificate (E, U, PG, 12, PG13, 15, 18, R, Unrated)
- Screen Format (4:3, 1.66:1, 1.85:1, 2.35:1)
- Soundtracks (Mono, 2 channel Stereo, DD 5.1, DTS 5.1, Other)
- Languages (English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin, Chinese,
other) - tick boxes.
- Subtitles (None, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin, Chinese,
other) - tick boxes.
- Distributer
- Director


Breakdown of Members Interface:

1. Authentication to log (maybe using vBulletin's cookies).
2. Ability to edit user info.
3. List all comments they have made on reviews.
4. Edit/delete own comments they have made on reviews.
6. Logout feature.
7. Restricted privelages ie only Moderators/Reviewers/Admins can submit reviews,
Only members and above can post comments on the reviews.
8. Members and above can rate the review.

- Review split over a few pages.
- Can add images via a vBulletin style quick link as well as smilies, text formatting etc
- Images can be uploaded to a location on the webserver or selected from an images dir.

THE WHOLE THING NEEDS TO BE USER FRIENDLY AND SOME KINDA ERROR CHECKING. MUST BE EASY TO INTEGRATE INTO ANY SITE TEMPLATE. NO MODIFICATIONS TO vBULLETIN FILES IF POSSIBLE. ALSO NEEDS TO BE SECURE
