Hi,

I have Windows 2003 Enterprise R2 OEM installed on my server.
I need, however, an SPLA license for it.
Is it possible to activate (didn't activate it yet) it with an other license code, SPLA without having to reinstall the server?
Does anyone know where I can get a license like this?

Are yoj planning to use it for web hosting related activities? If not, you will not need SPLA. Here is information about SPLA: http://www.microsoft.com/serviceproviders/licensing/default.mspx

Yes, I am, linux VPSs as soon I found out how.

Further I find SPLA quite interesting, I don't need to pay for the full price for a license anymore if I want to upgrade to Server 2008, for example.

You can get a license from an SPLA partner. We are provided license codes that we issue to clients, then collect fees and pass them along to MS. And you are correct in that upgrades are included.

Although - would you not provide linux vps's on a linux machine, rather than windows?

What virtualisation software would you be using?

@Karl: do you have a monthly price for me for 2003 Enterprise R2? Is selling to someone (no company) in Belgium (server in Netherlands) a problem?

@Midnight: I think VMWare server (not ESX) or MS Virtual Server, although I'm open for other options, since I don't know any other options.
Further, I have only one server (Q6600, 4GB DDRII PC5300 ECC, 2x160GB). Its going to be used for a gameserver for ET and BF2 and a static website + mailbox.
Lots of free resources yet high colocation costs a month. Would be a waste not to use the resources or to sell them.
VPS would be the best option since I don't like to offer lots of shared packages.
I wouldn't mind to run Linux as long I can install a Windows server for myself (VPS) in it, use it like a private server (=resources), and if I'm able to make Linux VPSs next to that.

But thats not really for this topic when I have an other one for that:

If you are colocating your server, then talk to your host - they should be able to supply a leased Windows license to you.

If anyone has an answer on the other topic, that'd be greatly appriciated.
