Is there any reason (feature based) why i should go with Stardevelop Live Help Messenger over ProvideSupport?

Does Stardevelop provide any usefull feature that ProvideSupport doesnt?

They offer the ability of owning the software instead of paying a monthly fee forever, and the ability to run the software on your own server. They also offer free upgrades for the life of the product and are considering developing a Windows Mobile client.

I am in the same position as your right now though, trying to decide which live help software would be better.

One feature I love about ProvideSupport is the map showing where the IP's of customers are.

From a clients perspective (and thats why we have the software in the first place) I think that Live Help is slightly better looking then ProvideSupport.

From Stardevelop's website, the new version 3.0 offers:

Telephone Callback
SIP 2.0 Compliant VoIP Hardware Support
Skype Integration

Neither
Providesupport:
Pay per operator, a pertty hefty fee too.
Stardevelop:
A rip off, quite literally.
I picked up stardevelop, a couple of months back. The product, great. The price? Well, that's not so much.

First problem?
They charged my credit card $5-$10 more than they should have, due to "funds conversion". When emailed about this, they stated

we must refund the entire price, NOT the difference, and cancel the order.

huh? WHAT company does NOT have the ability to refund $10 to the customer's card? Seriously now! I know it's a very easy thing to do with authnet, and should be so with any provider.

Their next statement threw me for even more of a loop:

You can always order through paypal, which is taken out in USD

OK, so, they want me to order through paypal, where my product purchase won't be covered AT ALL through their TOS, and if there's a problem, I have no way to get the money back? No thanks, that's just screaming fraud there.

At the end of the day, after about 2 hours of arguing with their reps, I get this in the mail:

We will refund you your full purchase price

Did they? Of course not. They refunded what was the current purchase price, which was even less than what I paid originally. So, I was out a small chunk of change because of these idiots.

I'm still searching (myself) for a decent live chat software provider. Stardevelop looks good, but I'm not going to go through being ripped off by those clowns.
