I am trying to get more info about reseller hosting..

Can someone tell me the difference between Master Reselling and Just reselling?

I am relatively new to this, though i have used Cpanel and have used hosting since years..

I am not sure your word master reselling. There are two kind of reselling. One is reseller program from godaddy or resellerpanel which you have commission when someone buy service/product from your reseller site and you set the price.

another one is you get reseller hosting package and you design package/plan and make your website and sell it...your profit will be Your whole profit - reseller hosting plan fee, not like commission base.

I am not sure your word master reselling.


Humm, I agree. Almost sounds like he is mentioning a "plan" that possibly is offered by some co. or something!

I suspect that "Master reselling" is in reference to subreselling, or the ability of a reseller package to sell reseller hosting.

There are 3 types of Reseller in my opinion. the 1st one is you get a Reseller for free and you set a price and you make the difference between the your price and the wholesale price like IHubNet said. The 2nd is you buy a Reseller which can sell cpanel acccounts and you make 100% of profit the 3rd is called the Master Reseller. If you have Root access you can make Master Resellers, Resellers and Shared accounts. The only way to get Root Access is to buy a Dedicated Server and install cPanel and WHM Reseller 2.6 Software. If you buy it from a Hosting Company like GoDaddy.com or some place like that you can only sell Resellers and Shared Accounts

isn't there an addon for whm now that allows reseller accounts to create other reseller accounts? don't know much about it, but i thought i had seen it.

There is not any addon available for WHM.

just do a master reseller webhosting and you will see...

Yes there's you can do it with Rvskins or another addon (can't exactly recall the name of it at this moment) where resellers can create resellers account too.

I think with the help of WHMCS license its possible.

I think it's something like the hosting package plan's name :)

There are very few hosts which allows reseller's to create sub resellers .. and helm 4 allows to create sub resellers

Search around for some of the Reseller guides and HowTo's you can glean a ton of good information from these posts.

what i meant was a reseller selling resellers..

and not in Helm or not in DA..i know little bit about these as well..been doing some researching..

I mean reselling resellers in WHM...

this has to be enabled by the people directly operating the WHM..thats mostly the webhosts who buy dedicated and then sell shared..

because in WHM there is an option of making accounts with reseller previlige ;-)..i learned this bit in the last few days also.
