View Full Version : Reliable Domain Registrar
obelix 08-01-2007, 02:03 PM Hey guys, who do you use to register domains. I can't stand godaddy or their advertising. And I'm really sick of using domainpeople. I have had nothing but issues with their technical staff and they have taken 8 weeks to transfer a domain.
One last thing the domain registrar needs to register .ca domain names.
Thanks!
Dormouse 08-01-2007, 02:43 PM I use Namecheap
imountain 08-01-2007, 02:57 PM The good quality ones never bother me with advertising but they do charge a hefty amount:
www.networksolutions.com (http://www.networksolutions.com)
www.register.com (http://www.register.com)
Networksolutions had/has a deal where you sign up for 7 years or something like that and get to pay about $11 a year. We had been paying $35 a year since 1996 so we jumped on that deal right away! I've never seen any other specials or advertisements from Networksolutions.
abnopanda 08-01-2007, 03:55 PM i'm using dynadot. no problem so far

Martie 08-01-2007, 04:52 PM Its becoming harder to "recommend" registrars anymore since ALOT of us here are hosts and seems nowdays all the registrars are now selling hosting.
I agree with imountain though on his 2 recommendations and you might also look at 000domains.com.
WN-Ali 08-01-2007, 04:54 PM Take a look at namecheap.com, they are really good :)

Orien 08-01-2007, 05:24 PM I use NameCheap as well.
dawhb 08-01-2007, 06:20 PM Why don't you go to ICANN's pages and find some companies. I know one called totalregistrations and it is good.
gunwitch 08-01-2007, 06:40 PM I'm working for 2+ years with estdomains (http://www.estdomains.com/) (their prices are REALLY good!) and everything was perfect during all that time.
Also I can recommend Directi (http://resellerclub.com (http://resellerclub.com/)), cause they're very good too.
Rasher 08-01-2007, 06:59 PM I use godaddy as my domain registrar. Have never really tried anyone else.
boonchuan 08-01-2007, 07:03 PM This would be better in the Domain Forum. Moved.

obelix 08-03-2007, 12:55 PM Just realized namecheap doesn't even have a 1800 number. What kind of domain registrar doesn't let you phone them??
gdtechind 08-09-2007, 07:05 AM Directi is the best, but for .ca domains, i will prefer godaddy.
