I seen a couple of .info's that I like and want to backorder.

I checked the status on Whois.net & this is what it says:

Expiration Date:26-Jul-2007 21:24:50 UTC
Sponsoring Registrar:Afilias Ltd
Status:DELETE PROHIBITED
Status:HOLD
Status:RENEW PROHIBITED
Status:TRANSFER PROHIBITED
Status:UPDATE PROHIBITED

How long before the domain becomes avaiable with the above details?

I checked Godaddy but it says "Unavailable" & no Backorder is available? so I gather this might mean it has passed the backorder time & will go public soon?

As for backordering, I know I can also use other registers like Snapdomains & Pool but they charge $60 but I think Godaddy is cheaper, yeah?

Anyway I don't mind paying $60 if I can get it but I'm a little unclear about whether if you put a deposit down & you are unsuccessful do you get the $60 back?

Well if someone can clear up these questions it would help, as you can see I have not backorderd before.

Only GoDaddy you pay up front AFAIK.

Also doing my first backorder, the domain expires in 2 weeks so I should know in about 6-8 weeks.

Think of it as an auction and you are bidding for the domain name. $60 is your initial bid. You don't have to pay for it if you don't get it in the end, but you do have to be ready to pay up when you win the auction. :)

So, basically: a.) it might not actually be $60 in the end; b.) you don't have to pay for it up front; and c.) most of these services are better at catching names than Go Daddy.

Good luck!

freewho.com give you a good drop calculated date.

The not backporder available, look as someone get a godaddybackorder in same domain
