Since I have just one domain to deal with, I would like to stop paying for plesk and switch to webmin when I move to the new server.

I've always used plesk so I'm really worried about changing, maybe I won't be able to use my website (with its mysql database) anymore.
I've been told that webmin doesn't have a migration tool like plesk's.

As for the content of the website I think webmin will provide an ftp account (won't it?) where I can upload all my stuff, but about the mysql db I really don't want to export it to a dump file and then import it, because I had some terrible experiences in the past.

Do you think it will be ok if I download the database folder from the mysql directory and then upload it in the mysql directory of the new server? Will webmin see the database?

and finally another webmin question: is it possible to upgrade php and mysql with a yum upgrade without screwing the panel?

I am not familiar with Webmin but Plesk will let you use it for free if you only have one domain. It also has some other limitations you might want to check into first.
