Hello,

We have been with aspnix for quite some time, we have posted good reviews about them, but now we advise everyone to stay away from them.

The History:

- 2 years with aspnix service, they had very good uptime but in the end we always known that if someday something went wrong it was going to be a real disaster, why? Because their supports its a big pile of crap.

- At the beginning we talked to ROMA that seemed to be the only living creature on that company but in the last time an other support guy called Azhar or Pazhar, something like that is the one that respond to questions (1 hour per day, sometimes less), his answers are always im going to send to admin, until now didnīt solve us anything, the best part is that everytime we begin a MSN conversation with him, he always suddenly stops talking and disapear specially when he really donīt know what to say.

- Aspnix has on the news they are going to develop a new website and some parts of the old one are going to be disabled, this is great new website (someday), the funny thing is that the first part to be disabled was the support forums

- Now the best part, most of our websites stopped working and has always we sent a ticket with no answer for 6 hours, than pazhar or something appears on the msn and says "i was out", mmm great, and about our website?? He says "the disk server crashed and we are recovering it, its going to take 3 days minimum" -- 3 days?????? After this he went away again.

Its really impossible to work with them, and if you have a client that really uses asp.net 2.0 or other windows server functionality, forget support, if something is not well configured the answer is always the same, we donīt support code. This happened us many times but when we move our clients website to another windows hoster it works perfectly.

I know there are many aspnix clients feeling the same, you can post here because their forum is dead and the same applies for their support.

Sorry to hear about that...

I remember early last year I hosted with them for a short time for .NET 2.0 and MS SQL 2005, but their support wasn't all that great back then either. I can't remember all the issues but I left within a month I believe.

3 days though; that's unacceptable. I wonder what the reason is for the change in the quality of support.

Hello,

3 days to recover? What? The same disk? The backup disk? Never heard nothing like this.

Im open to sugestions for windows providers (resellers accounts)

Hello,

Take a look at jodohost and cartikahosting. They seem to have good input and reviews here.

Best wishes and good luck w/ your search!

He says "the disk server crashed and we are recovering it, its going to take 3 days minimum" -- 3 days?????? After this he went away again. That is indeed scary.

For review validation purposes, can you share a domain that you're hosting with them?

Any aspnix clients experiencing the same problems?

Regards,
Yep, I'm having trouble as well. Haven't been able to add a new Database to any of my domains for over a week (MSSQL, MySQL or Access), Another of my sites is down since yesterday (on server 8.8.246.213), and I cannot even browse the files in Helm, or reach it via FTP.

Correction: I can add databases to some of my domains now.

It's a shame the forums (http://aspnix.com/forums/) are offline though... it would be nice to know if others are also having problems.

Now the websites are running, at least our websites, i asked pazhar about it and he didnīt explain why the recover was faster, but im still unhappy because my tickets arenīt answer and the lack of communication continues.

Slitheryimp (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/member.php?u=103222) your websites are working now?

Yes, I have similiar problems with ASPnix. I have had HTTP, FTP, SQL and Email issues lasting many hours at a time over the last month.

ASPNix disabled the customer forums on 7/17/07 so I started tracking when I sent in tickets for outages. Since that time I have sent in tickets on 7/20, 7/25, 7/27, 7/28, 7/29, 8/3, 8/4, 8/8, 8/11, 8/13, 8/15.

Average outages (HTTP, FTP or SQL) lasted about 10 hours each with the longest HTTP outage I'm aware of was about 30 hours. Their response to tickets submitted was a minimum of 6 hours, average was about 12 hours with no response to 4 of the 11 tickets I sent in. So within about the last month my customers were unable to reach my support site for a minimum of 100 hours. To date there has been no credit given for the downtime.

All responses received were one of 2 canned replies - Either "We don't see any problems here..." or "your issue has been resolved, check your site(s) again"

Any recommendations for a new host that supports Community Server?

Any recommendations for a new host that supports Community Server?

If your looking for CS hosting I would recommend DiscountASP.NET. I can't say I've ever seen a canned response come out of their support team and they are alway quick with the email responses.

Community Server isn't the most lean ASP.NET application out there. When you go searching for a host, be sure to make sure your host won't have an issue giving you an application pool with the necessary resources. I've seen it take hundreds of megs before on fairly low traffic sites.
