I bought an account from a "Red-Hot" company here and thought that it should be a reseller account as they stayed on their web site. After I got my account, I found out it's not really a reseller account. It's a shared account under a one big client which is myself. In other word, this is NOT a reseller account as they said that on the web site.

How do I know? It's very easy! They are using Plesk server and the control panel is missing the "Client" buttom on my admission panel. Well, this is lie to the customers if they say this is a reseller account. How could you sell some of the spaces and bandwidth to others? I just can't figure that out myself.

Have you emailed them? Maybe the account was set up as a normal hosting account by mistake.

Just a thought

Right. Mistakes happen. Contact them first.

I just email them and got th following message right away.

"Subscriber <<Company name>> is not a valid subscriber. Check the number and try again." <--- Very annoying!

Digiguy,

Did you got that message when called them or when you eMailed them? Specially

"the number and try again"

Well, that's what the computer says when you dial a wrong number through our local phones.

Digiguy, you wont see the Client button if you are logging in as a client, as you are the client/reseller. You should see buttons for Edit-Report-Preferences and below that, New Domain.

It is via New Domain that you add domains.

Does that help? There's a big difference between your provider adding you as a client/reseller and as a standard hosted domain, so I doubt they got it wrong.

Cheers

OK I even don't understand why is that? If I don't have the "Client" buttom, how can I let my customers login Plesk server? Are they going use the same Plesk ID and the same Plesk password with me? There is no way I can do that without a "client buttom in my admin. panel. If we look at the demo from plesk.com, you can figure that I really don't have the upper row where the "Client" buttom located on my panel.

Your best bet in this situation is to eMail your Hosting Company's support dept. and ask them regarding this problem.

Best of luck!

Lodge a support request with them and see what they have to say. Maybe just a misunderstanding, it happens.

I had a client just last week upset because he could not see where to create an account in his cpanel and the space and transfer amount did not match the plan. He had just missed the part of the welcome letter that explained he had a separate web host manager account and panel.

Or maybe whom ever set it up did it wrong.

But give them a chance to fix or explain before getting too upset and posting here.

Your clients will log in to PSA at https://www.domain.com:8443 using domain.com (their domain without the "www") as the username and the password you set under Hosting after you have been through New Domain.

You wont see the Client button, as you are set up at the Client level itself.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding the entire situation, but if you bought a reseller account, why would anyone but you have plesk access? Unless you're reselling reseller accounts all you need to give your clients is FTP login info and DNS nameservers, right? That would make sense to me.

Individual site owners that Digiguy might be selling standard hosting to, would want access to maintain their mailboxes and databases, etc.

In most cases, users ( the resellers clients ) will need access to their plesk control panel to create pop accounts, auto responders, check stats. etc...

One thing that a reseller should ask their host to do on their behalf is to set up their Plesk admin. account with generic information, such as (Client of Your company) that way when your client is in their controll panel they will see (client of Your Company) in the reports section of the controll panel instead of "your" personal information.

As a matter of fact when is plesk check the reports section and see what is listed, this will tell you whether you have shared space or are just in the wrong panel.

You shoud be able to enter your controll panel admin by entering your username and password as supplied by your host (not your domain name) from their you can add domains, sub domains, web users etc... try your ftp login and pass or ask your host for the admin. info. if you can't log in as admin.

All told, Plesk is a pretty solid server admin. and very easy to learn.

if you can't log in as admin

Erm.. I think you'll have to shell out a few more bucks and get your own server to do that lol :D

OK. If I want to set an individual account for my friend and let her access her plesk server. What can I do with that for the set up? Where are her username and password go?

http://www.plesk.com/doc/psa_2.5_um/ch15.html#N4b38

Then head into Domain User and set a password.

Once their domain has resolved to your nameservers, your client can access plesk at:

https://www.theirdomain.com:8443

(or beforehand, at https://<server_ip>:8443
