Vinayak_Sharma 07-27-2007, 08:46 AM I won't say its the best, as nothing is best, it depends upon which one works best for you. We have RVSkin AntiSPAM (http://www.rvskin.com/index.php?page=public/antispam) on all of our cPanel servers except one and its working good for us. On one server we have solution from http://www.configserver.com and that is working good too. dotcomUNDERGROUND 07-27-2007, 10:42 AM On the RVSkin antispam site: cPanel11 Note We don't test it on cPanel11. If you know EXIM, you can follow below instruction as a guideline. Don't copy it all. dotcomUNDERGROUND 08-06-2007, 02:37 AM What about SpamAssign? MACscr 08-06-2007, 04:37 AM Its not specific to cpanel, but i have been testing out http://easyantispam.com lately. its pretty cool so far. Been looking for an alternative to configservers.net's solution. Olate 08-06-2007, 06:37 AM SpamAssassin that comes with cPanel has always worked nicely for us when combined with the SpamBox system so that you don't get any spam delivered to your inbox. We are also using SpamAssassin on our other non cPanel server and it only misses a few spam messages a week. Dougy 08-06-2007, 07:52 AM My friend uses ASSP, I've heard good about it. Hosting Comments 08-06-2007, 08:26 AM Which one is the best anti-spam solution for cpanel? cPanel/WHM is bundled with SpamAssassin and BoxTrapper at no additional cost. BoxTrapper is a challenge-response system where incoming email coming from an email address that has not yet been white listed must reply to an initial email to verify that it is not a piece of spam. Email addresses can be manually white or black listed on a server-wide level as well as on an individual email account basis. cPanel also allows users to set up powerful custom mail filtering rules. BurakUeda 08-06-2007, 08:44 AM I am using ConfigServer's Mailscanner Service (http://www.configserver.com/cp/mailscanner.html) too and I am very happy about it. It comes with a nice control panel in WHM, which you can upgrade Mailscanner and ClamAV automaticly with one click. albatroz 08-12-2007, 05:00 PM So would you tell easyantispam is THE SOLUTION? It is well known the burden that Spamassassin produces to servers. Its not specific to cpanel, but i have been testing out http://easyantispam.com lately. its pretty cool so far. There also isnt a way for users to tell the system about a false negative. There would be an ability for this if configservers didnt handicap mailwatch so that only root has access to it. Unfortunately they were less than willing to expand on it when i approached them about it. I wouldnt call Easyantispam.com to be THE SOLUTION, but its pretty good. Doesnt appear to stop as much spam as the configservers solution (only maybe a 5% difference), but i havent had a false positive yet and the fact that my servers resource usage went down almost 20% is nice. You really should just test it out yourself. They have a free trial. dotcomUNDERGROUND 08-13-2007, 08:24 AM So would you tell easyantispam is THE SOLUTION? It is well known the burden that Spamassassin produces to servers. So its bad to use SpamAssign? Vinayak_Sharma 08-13-2007, 08:34 AM There is nothing wrong in using SpamAssassin only thing is that it should be properly configured and tuned. Right now I am using AntiSpam solution Spam+Virus Protection for cPanel server using Exim+Exiscan+Clamav+RBL+Spamassassin+SARE+Razor+DCC from RVSkin provided at http://www.rvskin.com/index.php?page=public/antispam without any problem and server load is also under control. mdrussell 08-13-2007, 11:23 AM We bought some MailFoundry units a while back and love them. Not found anything better. htb 08-13-2007, 01:37 PM yeap the best thing to got MailFoundry Adam-AEC 08-13-2007, 03:38 PM My friend uses ASSP, I've heard good about it. I've been running ASSP in production for 6 months or so and it works great. There is a decent cPanel plugin for ASSP. Only downside of ASSP is I feel there is *too* much customization available. mdrussell 08-13-2007, 05:33 PM We tried ASSP, as well as using SpamAssassin but the pure out of the box usability and accuracy of MailFoundry won me over. crazylane 08-15-2007, 02:50 PM easyantispam rocks! No more spamassassin. We've been using it for awhile, its an easy sale to our customers. BTW easyantispam use mail foundry. roccol 08-17-2007, 08:11 PM Since easyantispam is a server solution, what do your clients do when they report they are missing email? crazylane 08-18-2007, 12:55 AM There is a quaratine for each user and we haven't had anycomplaints about missing mail. ResellerPlanet 08-18-2007, 08:59 AM ASSP is the best I ever used. www.grscripts.com Mxhub 08-18-2007, 09:12 AM There is a ASSPX which is free. ResellerPlanet 08-18-2007, 09:48 AM There is a ASSPX which is free. True, but at least grscripts' ASSP front-end is fully documented and supported by them. I rather pay for something that is documented. The ASSPX web site doesn't even contain any screen shots, demo, or installation instructions. I don't install things before I know what it is, and if the developers won't install a demo or provide some more info then I won't bother setting it up on a sandbox either. |
