On Unix there is not, since the GUI (X) is not a standard part of installation. Of course, you've always got telnet and/or SSH to give you command line access.

Windows 2000 supports Pc Anywhere, but also has terminal services which does the same job.

LapLink also does the same thing as Pc Anywhere I believe.

there is a very (VEEEERY) good package named VNC (http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc). It's free and supports all major platforms. works on windows 9x, 2000, NT, Solaris, Linux...

we use it all the time, no problems at all.

Vnc interface is much slower compared to Pc anywhere.
We have both on our box with Rackspace and even with Vnc client it is nearly half as slower than Pc A.

This is on normal dialup connectivity, If you are using faster link then may be you can go with it.
But i would not suggest.

If you are using win2k then terminal services is best option for you
