Hi, I currently run cPanel/WHM but am needing to move to a new supplier due to continuous problems with hosts I have been with over the last 6 months. I am probably going to choose a VPS that uses Plesk as it starts to get pricey when cPanel is brought into the equation!!
I have around 10 or so cPanel / WHM accounts and would need to move these to the Plesk platform...
A few of these sites are heavily dependant on their MySQL databases which were setup within cPanel.
How smooth would the migration process be transitioning between the cPanel system to Plesk?
Many Thanks :)

ive done the process before, seems to go well but yes probably biggest concern will be the mysql as sometimes it doesnt copy the databases, best reccomendation will be to backup EVERYTHING then schedule downtime with your clients so they dont loose data during the transfer period

I've run a couple cpanel to plesk migrations using the PMM (Plesk Migration Manager) without issues.

If the problem is with the providers not the control-panel then you need to change your selection criteria !

VPS Cpanel?WHM is not really any differently priced than a Plesk one unless you're looking ate the domain-limited versions of Plesk and therefore not comparing apples-apples :p

Automated - you can try the plesk migration tools
Manual - add the domains etc to plesk, use plesk to create the db, use plesk to create the email accounts, dump the old db's using phpmyadmin, scp over all the files form public_html to httpd_docs, in ssh on the new server su to the user and import the db's, create a new dns entry for "test.{domain}" pointing at the new ip and test it, update the nameservers, change the old serevrs zoen to point at the new ips, let the customer loseon it with the proviso that some places wont poit to the new site for a few days.

Not true actually. This depends on:
1.) Has the provider signed to be a partner with cPanel? This is a fairly large commitment especially if they are already highly committed to SW-Soft.
2.) If they are on the high tier pricing the price is actually less than the lowest cPanel VPS pricing I have heard of at this point.

The biggest problem I had with a Plesk migration is that customers didn't know where to find certain features/functions under the Plesk interface.

That is just going to take time for customers to learn it. It is different from cPanel.
