I am wondering what kind of equipment or even what is the best way to get videos on a website? I am wanting to place the ministers sermons on the website for people to download and view. What would be the best route to tackle this task? What and how would you do such a thing? Thanks in advance!

I do not like they way Real charge for their licenses and try to litterally make it impossible for a newbie to download their free palyer.

They should atleast post a clear link to the free player. That anyone would be able to download.

I would go with quicktime or windows media.. and if you do not need it to be live.. you can use any webserver to store and stream your files via http.

I'm not sure if you want to cybercast live or canned content. A lot of time people tell us they want to place something on their web site for people to "download and view" when they really mean a live cybercast.

A live cybercast is much like a WebCam. I wrote a WebCam primer a while back - you can read it here. (http://www.commercialnetworkservices.com/streamingmedia/howtosetupawebcam.htm) . Much of what you are trying to do applies. The difference is that with canned content, you need to run the video through the encoder and store the file on a streaming media server.

Just remember that you will need to get a wireless microphone setup, instead of a radio tuner. You can get these at Fry’s or Radio Shack. I would still recommend the mixer.

Have fun!
