View Full Version : Reliable/Cheap Reseller
InterVertex 07-16-2007, 11:41 PM Hi,
I'm looking for some reseller hosting. I don't actually plan on selling web space but rather host a multitude of sites that I own. Thus, I need separate control panels as there's more people that need access to each site rather than all of them. I need 10gb space/100gb bandwidth, but I'll really use like 1/10 of that... I would like for you to actually stay in business while I am your client. I was previously with Sonata Web, and I got screwed over pretty much over there. I am currently with MediaTemple, but I think it's overpriced and not really what I need.. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
PogiWeb 07-17-2007, 12:35 AM Hey InterVertex,
I know trying to find a reliable host is such a hard task these days with companies coming and going; however, theirs still many new companies out their that can provide excellent services and support so don't rule out the small ones. You should take a look at the Reseller Offers forum and of course just do a little research on the host before you sign up. I wouldn't of course pay $10 for the amount your asking so just play it safe. Best of Luck!!!
GarrettW 07-17-2007, 01:16 AM There's a new company called Raxim Networks that I've noticed has no reviews yet, anywhere on the net that I've looked. The company belongs to Alex, a forum member here. And the package you'd want is Advanced (regularly $34.95/mo).
Here's his hosting offer thread, which mentions a coupon code of interest:

And of course, there is always WHReviews.com (http://www.whreviews.com/), which is Dan's site (forum member ldcdc). You could probably be sure that any of the companies on his "Honest Hosts" list are worth your while.
InterVertex 07-17-2007, 01:36 AM Thank you for your replies. Although, I think anything more than $15-$20 is a little to excessive. I may look into hosting 10-15 clients of mine, so I was wondering what are the best hosts out there that provide anonymous support/WHM Reseller/billing software/ssl/dedicated ip/etc? If the price is right, I may be able to bump my budget.
Here are a few that I'm looking at...
1) Cirtex Hosting
2) Reseller Zoom
3) HostGator.com
4) InnoHosting
5) HostNine
6) any more i should look at?
Thanks
InterVertex 07-17-2007, 01:39 AM Oh, and I've checked through practically all the reseller offers and I also visited the WHreviews.com website, which helped a little, but the prices are a little off for me on some of the sites that are "honest." I, myself, don't really need much of support other than transferring my sites from MediaTemple to the host, so I don't really prefer if the support is AMAZING or anything like that. I just want to know that it's going to be around and is affordable. I would also like for the servers to be fast.
Thanks
GarrettW 07-17-2007, 02:20 AM honestly, for the specs you asked for, i personally wouldn't expect to pay less than $25-30.
$15-20 just seems too low of a price to expect.
besides, the "honest" list isn't just about good support, it's also about things like reliability, fair treatment, etc.
make up your mind on support. do you want (a) just decent support for yourself, or (b) anonymous support provided for all your clients?
If you say you're looking for anonymous support to be provided ... first of all, i'm pretty sure that most normal reseller plans aren't that way, but i could be wrong.
second, do you expect support for you AND all your clients for such a low price??
now, i'm not saying it's impossible to find hosting that matches what you want, but it seems that if there were such a host out there, it could be a little tough to find.
lastly, if you're hosting 10-15 clients, i would think the amount you charge them should easily be able to pay for a good reseller account. unless you're hosting them for free or something. surely not.
PremiumHost 07-17-2007, 02:33 AM I, myself, don't really need much of support other than transferring my sites from MediaTemple to the host, so I don't really prefer if the support is AMAZING or anything like that.
Most hosting providers offer free transfer for cpanel hosting accounts
If you mean mediatemple.net, i don't know about their service but their price seems to be ok.
