Maybe you should stop advertising yourself as "cheap." That adjective turns me off from a hosting company. How about inexpensive or affordable?

we have very inexpensive hosting packages or we can give temporary free accouts without paying for our advert. Now can you understand our problem?

No, I mean, trying using a word like "inexpensive" or "affordable" in place of "cheap." Cheap has come to have a sort of negative connotation.

melia is totally right on that. I never give a look at company that advertises the way you do, Antilamer

and then more WORK! It never stops.
I have to agree with others on this..what you have in your sig is not the best.
Who would want to do business with a company that comes to a public forum saying "I have a hosting company but we don't any visitors so we can't get any sign-ups"
There are plenty of forums on marketing around.
You might want to research a little bit!
Good Luck

Antilamer,

Have you consider add SSL on your order form? The current sign up page (http://www.egehost.com/kirala.html) is not secure and may give potential customers second thoughts about giving their cc # to you.

Good luck.

<< Wups. Please avoid breaking the forum rules (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/index.php?action=forum-rules). We do not like it when people break them and act arrogant.

Isn't that message directly above considered advertising? Or is that type allowed?

Maybe it should be considered so. It's the second time I've seem him post much the same message, plus I got the same information emailed to me.

Lonny,

We all understand your urge to promote - it's something we all need to do. But try to temper it a little. This is a discussion forum, not a FFA links board. Post the message in the Ad section and the people who are interested will see it and then go to your site. We all work our way through the board in our own time.

He asked for help - for promoting his site, so I offered our site as a solution that's all..

Didn't mean to Spam or anything..

antilamer,

melia is right. Work, work, work! It's the only way short of a big ad budget. Join forums, and help people, talk you friends and family in your local area. People who want your services will begin to notice, and sign up. If you provide the sort of support they enjoy, they'll tell others. It's a long road, but worthwhile doing it the right way.

You have to advertise.. If you shell out around ~1-2,000 a month for advertising would probably be best to start off.

Advertising is all well and good, but you have to have the services to back it up. Just the fact that you don't have SSL, is going to turn a lot of people off. It shows lack of care and professionalism towards your customers' well-being -- or at least their credit cards -- and needs.

Lonny,

I understand. Maybe I'm just jumping on it before it gets posted everywhere through the board. The general rule of thumb is to suggest other services than your own (or at least some other options). This board is about helping others with a minimum of self promotion beyond our signature tags.

Lonny- first, welcome to WHT! We do appreciate you wanting to help (as it is needed in this case, and relevant to the thread). That said, we do allow Deb and Duster to post their links with the ultimate goal of helping out members, and this may fall under that realm.

I'd appreciate it if you keep the promotion of the site more to the Advedrtsing Forum (where you are welcome to start a thread with a blurb about what you do, and what your site offers, etc.)...

hehe, ok people I got it :)

don't worry, I won't do it anymore...

Besides you're actually helping me by posting more threads because each time that I reply, the footer gives me promotion :)))))

heheheh

Wow, you got to post your ad in the General section, have it okayed by Chicken, then brag about it after. That's got to be some kind of first.

Wasn't the message about that poor guy's promotion?
Come on people let's help him out instead of arguing where the pst I made a few hours ago suppose to be, ok?

Dun be arrogant! If you really want to help him, email him, so you do not break the forum rules and harm yourself.

Also, Greg, at 3 weeks and a day old, I don't think their site will be much help at increasing traffic. Besides, to come here and then start complaining about the rules does not indicate good judgment.

I did not know adults acted out in the manner "some" people did in this thread. However, I think the site needs a little work. Maybe even a facelift and a clear English Version. "I assume you would not mind English speaking customers since you speak english".

After that post to hosting directories all over.

LONNY,

People are mad at you because you continue to break the rules, your committing virtual suicide for your company on this board, no one would want to advertise with a pompous rules abuser... If you want to help out then help out, otherwise ship out...

Orginal Poster,

THe best way to get your services out, is to help out on this board, people will see your sig and try you out if you show your a good guy. Also you may want to post in various webhosting directorys, and change your sig a little I would also take out the adult, people who host legit websites dont really want to host with a host that advertsies adult services, you can still offer them but when you advertise about your adult services do it only in a adult forum. Here s a recomendation on a new sig:

For affordable hosting and quality support turn to:

...Maybe you should stop advertising yourself as "cheap."

At findwhat.com the keyword cheap is used (much) more often in connection with hosting than affordable and ... - so yes - don't advertise your company as "cheap" but wisely use keywords in ppc sites and I suppose also in meta tags.

...How can we get high traffic?

$ $ $ - besides that:

Don't be tempted to pay submission companies that in their offers say they submits to thousands of search engines. There are only about 100 search engines that really matters. When someone offers thousands they mean ffa sites - and it's just not worth it - response is minimal and you continue to get spammed with offers.

Why not try pay per click at, for instance, findwhat.com or overture.com. That's cheap marketing and it brings visitors to your site.
