Hi,

I'm just wondering if anyone has had a problem with double charging on customer's credit cards lately?

I just got off the phone to a guy in Columbia (from Australia) who says his card has been double charged by Paysystems. According to my control panel he's still 'Pending'. Naturally I advised him to have the transactions voided asap as I never got any information regarding being settled. As he's apparently had the transaction approved, he may need to go for a chargeback instead. He's a pretty big customer so a double charge rolls him for close to $1300(US)! Understandably I'm a little concerned this guy gets this corrected as I'm sure he doesn't want to lose that sort of money.

As it's never happened to anyone else signing up (and Paysystems has always been a great system), I find it very odd. Could it be a Trojan? While I don't mind the odd International phonecall to sort this kind of problem out, it's not something I really want to have to do too often :)

Advise? Suggestions? Wild guesses?

That is odd, its shows one transaction pending in the Revecom Panel right? What is the figure for the pending account? Maybe you should email revecom about it?

An African Elephant accidently mated with an Indian Elephant, which upset the delicate balance of spiritual powers. Of course all this occurred exactly 8 days after Valentines Day, and we all know that Jewish male babies are circumcized on the 8th day after birth. So as you can see, there are serious spiritual forces at work that have bent the electronic continuim. The obvious conclusion is that there is actually only one charge on his credit card, that he is seeing twice due to an illusion created by the bent elctronic continuim. It is quite simple, actually.

You said wild guesses were okay!!:)

A similar thing happened to me a while back with Instabill. Customer places an order then a week later canceled it. I dutifully issued a refund, yet he ends up getting double billed. The control panel showed everything as normal and the (former) customer had to alert me to it. An email to Instabill got the problem solved in a hurry.

Seems like a common enough error. I suggest you let Revecom know and they can fix it on their end.

alchiba,

Thanks. I got much the same answer from Revecom so all should be corrected shorty. Later tonight I should get an answer from the customer after he rings the bank. They seem to think he may have double *poked* the submit button. It's been voided at my end so everything should be credited back. He says he'll still sign up, but I'd rather the current problem resolved first in case he's hit with even more. All in all - annoying for the both of us.

Marty,

Erm... ok. Elephants and circumsizing people may indeed be the problem.. I'll have to kill a chicken and read it's entrails to be sure though :)

You do that, but make sure you do it under a low hanging, dead limb, on a mature, live oak tree that is full of mistletoe.

(Sorry guys, I miss etlux)

Hi,
I'm having a problem with Revecom stopping multiple orders from the same customer. For example, A customer orders a hosting package and submits the order. Later on, the same customer orders a Domain registration. Revecom puts the order in MANUAL check. Then it gets deleted from the NEW ORDERS.
Pain in the neck... Is anyone else having the same problem?
