Well I have an issue that I am hoping someone could help me quell.
I would like to throw a company logo into a document such as a .doc or .pdf and everytime I paste or import a picture the image quality drops tremendously. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix or prevent this?

It happens in msword and acrobat and it happens with all image types.

Thanks
Cody

What file format are you using for your image?

I have used pretty much everything.
.GIF .JPG .PNG and it happens in both MSword and Acrobat.

First off, you are mixing mediums; am assuming that the image looks its worst in print output. Is this the case and your primary problem?

If so, its because typical gif / jpg / png image is 72 DPI resolution, maybe 100, for screens.

Typical print resolution is 300 - 1200 DPI.

If you stretch or scale the image in any way, you'll only compound the problem further.

What you need is either an EPS or vector format that your authoring tool can deal with. If you had your logo designed by a graphic arts shop, have them produce you a scalable EPS object - a file - which you can import into your documents and scale away. EPS = Encapsulated Postscript; Acrobat will also know what to do with these too.
