:look: hellllloooo everybody. hope this is the rite place 4 this question.

i take credit card orders over the net thru the interchange shopping cart. that cart software requires pgp be installed at the cpanel server and on my computer. did that. works. can decrypt orders fine on my home computer.

but i tried to install the same pgp at my office computer. didn't work. message said something like "can't decrypt because the private key does not match."

that's where i'm confused. i did a clean install of the pgp software from a fresh download at my office. then i imported the keys from a floppy disk i created on my home computer. i even copied the keys in the same directory on my office computer. no go.

anybody know what gives?

2 the proprietor of this forum: nice place u got here.

Hi Diana,
I hope you are using the same pgp versions. Usually, this is the cause for such an error.

Also, try sending a pgp message from office and reading it at home... Does it work... ?

Have a great day :)

Amar

:)
thank u bobcares. i use the same version in both computers, downloaded from pgpi.com.

i will try sending a message from my computer at work 2 home.

after installing on my home computer, i created a key-pair. the file name i copied onto the floppy had a .asc extension.

i also copied the secring.skr and the pubring.pkr to the floppy. i transferred all that 2 parallel directories on my office computer, then "imported" those keys using the pgpkeys=>keys=>import function.

thanks 4 tyring 2 help.
:)

Hi!
Is the issue only with pgp mails that come from your site (i.e. orders) or for all pgp messages that you receive...

Have a great day :)

:)
thank u bobcares. only from the shopping cart site because i don't receive pgp emails from anywhere else, and don't send them to anyone else. this is my first use of pgp. it took some doing just getting it 2 work in interchange, since most hosting tech support don't support interchange.

since i manually process the cc numbers thru my terminal, interchange makes it mandatory 2 use pgp. i think that's good. but it's even better when it works. :)

and a great day 2 u 2
