Not many choices. Verizon and Comcast are the big ones. You may be able to get Starpower Cable, and there are a couple of dsl companies.

My bf got Comcast. The guy he talked to told him there's a loophole. You can sign up for 3 months at a low rate (like $25/month for the first 3 months in my bf's case); cancel, wait a while, then sign up again with another promotional deal.

Also, my best friend uses AOL DSL, ick.

Cox Cable is the provider in my area (Fairfax), and I think they service a part of PG County - not sure about that though. If you never have any problems, you'll be fine, but if you ever think about using their customer support, you're pretty much screwed. Of course I speak as a person without cable internet since they haven't yet wired my cable lines for broadband (although my neighbor up the street has had it for 2 years - go figure :( )

I know someone that has had Comcast cable for a year or so and has been very pleased with it. I also have a couple friends who use Verizon DSL and seem to be happy with it.
