WireNine 07-09-2007, 04:28 AM HostGator is one of their biggest customers in this department I believe. Site5 has recently switched over to ThePlanet aswell.
Do a search on any company for feedback here before signing up.

Where did you hear that? :)
Jedito 07-09-2007, 06:59 PM Honestly, I don't remember, that's why I said "If I'm not wrong".

They just signed hundreds of servers deal with them.

All,
That is FAR from the truth! More FUD I'm affraid. HostGator is still a customer and yes, we have been steadily helping them grow their business adding the servers and services they need for today's growth, while supporting all their current business.
They have always been a great supporter of The Planet and with them being close to our HQ's now, they are just a drive away from meeting with us to discuss any concerns they ever have. Support and service for them could not be better!

rhino56 07-10-2007, 12:42 AM i recently got a server from hostgator and i couldnt be happier with the level of support ive gotten. ive talked to about 10 instant chat people over the past few weeks prior to ordering and after with issues. filed one support ticket and it was resolved nearly immediatly.
ive heard a few horror stories in the past about them and it made me really cautious about them, i first tried a reseller account to see the level of service and what i was getting into.
maybe at one time they had bad service? not sure but i am really happy that i went with them.
Jedito 07-10-2007, 12:45 AM Sorry Paul, it was my fault then, honestly, I don't remember where I read it, but since I wasn't sure nor could remember where it was, I said "If I'm not wrong".

Actually, their support is a whole lot better after the takeover. :)

No worries Jedito! I totally understand and yes, you did qualify your statement thoroughly.
Thanks!

Mxhub 07-10-2007, 07:05 AM Theplanet had one of the best network i used. They are still in my list if i would to get new server.
CyberHostPro 07-10-2007, 10:50 AM Actually, their support is a whole lot better after the takeover. :)
not really! a while back if i called support i could get straight through to a technician, now when i call i listen to music for quite some time, then went i get answered its a level 1 tech chatting to a level2 tech via some kind of I.M so i have to wait around where i use to get the answers i need in minutes.
jmweb 07-10-2007, 12:00 PM ThePlanet used to have good support.
Keywords = used to.
net-trend 07-11-2007, 04:22 AM Well, in my experience, they are more responsive. Especially when it comes to manual reboots. Last time, I had to call a few times to nudge them to reboot my server. Now, it's done in minutes.
However, I am currently having an issue with their sales dept. No biggie there.
coight 07-11-2007, 05:02 AM Yep they have very poor support, took us a week to get a SSL ordered because their system is crap and they only have 1 staff member manning resellone

Hi net-trend!
Is there anything that I may be able to do to assist you with the Sales Department? I work with those guys every day. Feel free to drop me a PM or post up and I'll see what I can do to help you out.
Kind regards,
