View Full Version : Its time for another Burst thread....but with a twist
dandanfirema 07-20-2002, 09:59 PM Well its been atleast 5 minutes since someone opened a Burst thread. In the past I have been quite vocal over some of the problems that have transpired over the last few weeks. I feel that it is only right to also relate my experiences when they do it right!
This afternoon my server croaked. Actually named, sql and ssh were no longer running. I called Burst and reported the problem. Within 10 minutes, the server had been rebooted, and a bad hard drive diagnosed, and a new drive in the system getting data copied to it from the old drive (on its last leg). While it took a little while to get the data copied, they could not have responded in a more effecient manner.
Thank you Nate, Dave and Burst! Well done.
phantasywork 07-20-2002, 10:23 PM dandanfirema, That's great to hear ;)
I don't think burst or nocster are bad companies , they just need to imporve on things , especially all around customer care . There Network issues lately are I think the biggest problem they have and needs alot of attention .
I have had great experinces with Darren and Nate for tech support and they always go above and beyond the call of duty , but there are several other techs that are plain worthless and there customer care skills Suck.
Darren is another great guy , I had a hard drive crash back almost 2 months ago and he dedicated his help to me for a good 8 hrs , helping me recover data and making sure everything was in the same condition as it was before the hard drive crash , he went way above his call of duty in that situation and I can't thank him enough.
The area's of focus need to be network reliabilty , Methods of ALerting customers of Network troubles via a method off of the burst network , email communacation of troubles.
I am sure many people can come up with a list of other things and I am not trying to bash Burst , just offering alittle construtive comments.
FDrive 07-20-2002, 10:30 PM Matthew and Eric are also great people at Burst to deal with. Really, I've only had positive experiences with their support team. It's just their network that has seemed a little shakey over the past few days (though everything is running smoothly as can be at the moment)
edude 07-20-2002, 10:31 PM aww i don't like this twist :bawling:
bruce1234at 07-20-2002, 10:44 PM what a twist it was! :D

Well, it's about time somebody stepped up and talked about when things are going well for them. It's a refreshing change of pace around here.
I have nothing but high regards for Burst/Nocster. They have always been prompt and professional whenever I have submitted requests. But, this is dandanfirema's thread and I think I'll leave it at that.
:pimp: Somebody wanna make somethin outa it? Let's step out back.
 j/k . . . . . . . I don't even know where the back door is. Now. Let's get back to work! :D
edude 07-20-2002, 11:12 PM Ok SWR, if you call monkeys professional - i don't know what humans are ;)
BurstNET 07-20-2002, 11:23 PM We are no less professional than kangaroos like yourself. Nice attitude you have!

BurstNET
TimPD 07-20-2002, 11:37 PM BurstNET, has improved alot I have to admit. They have did a great job on improving things.. I have worked with several of the BurstNET staff such as Matthew,Lyron,Darren,Nate,Paul, Eric W,Eric G,John H (former staff),Keith as well as many other of the staff at BurstNET. There has not been one time that they haven't been very friendly on dealing with us. Everytime I have called we have gotten a friendly attitude. BurstNET has had several network issues but hey we all have those. I have to put a good word in for Burst cause we have gotten nothing but good treatment.
Alareach 07-20-2002, 11:56 PM I will say that despite recent network problems which have me pulling my hair out, the support team answers the phone anytime I call and is polite and gets right on any server problem we have. In addition, they do answer most support tickets within an hour or so unless it needs to be escalated to Nick for some reason. Some of the guys there have been very good about following up and making sure the problem is fixed rather than just closing out tickets too. Improvement yes, I can say that there is... as far as support. Overall though, I still need servers to be reachable as well as working.

Q: who owns those servers, that hard drive and that network?
aww i don't like this twist
Me, either. Sounds like a conspiracy.

You must eat right and go to church every Sunday. You seem to be in the minority when I read way, way, WAY back in this forum about burstnet.

That's like saying, "The transmission, drive train, brakes and steering went out in the first week after I bought my new Chevy Blazer, but it's okay, because the sales guy at the store made me feel less of a sucker than I am."
We are no less professional than kangaroos like yourself. Nice attitude you have!
By responding to edudes comments with your equally inane remarks, you have exposed yourself as equally or more inane.
BurstNET has had several network issues but hey we all have those. We do? We ALL have SEVERAL network issues? Even if that were true, and thankfully it isn't, or there would be no demand for internet services, that statement doesn't excuse the worst case of customer support I've experienced in six years on the internet.

Except; this is today.
