Really unhappy at hostnine and before i cave in and go to Hostgator (already have an account with them but would like to keep this one seperate), i found Mkhosting.co.uk. I know the guy is a member on the forum but i hope that wont deter people sharing their experiences :D
I like that they are UK based with UK servers and am looking at their reseller accounts but its mainly for my own websites. The only concern i have is that it is run by one guy or rather the owner is listed as a sole trader. I havent found any negative reviews as yet but havent really found any positive ones either.
Is anyone here hosted with them or has previously hosted with them? Id really like to leave H9 this weekend so a speedy response is much appreciated:agree:
Many thanks.

Could you be more specific on your problems with hostnine?

It says on the footer of their website "Copyright © 2007 MK Hosting Ltd. All rights reserved."
If my GCSE business studies serves me right. LTD is a private limited company, not a sole trader.

It costs about £25 to form a limited company and you dont even have to touch a piece of paper to do it. The DNS for MKHosting lists a guy shown as a sole trader. Theres nothing wrong in that, im a sole trader and i have a very successfull business and provide excellent support to my customers, or atleast i like to think so but with being burned a few times over the past year with hosts im being a little extra cautious :D

Hi Willow,
You would try http://uk.webhostdir.com which is a directory for UK providers.
Goodluck in your search.

Willow, don't forgot it is the weekend which is a non-working day in the UK. I would give them until Monday, if you receive no reply then look elsewhere.

The sales time isnt the issue when choosing a web host. Sales hours are often 9-5 Mon - Fri as Craig hinted at.
Of course the support response is the key. Submit a ticket/email through their support system and state it is only a test to see the kind of response time you get. Any host shouldnt mind a prospective customer doing this.
If you are happy with the response time you get on the support system/email, that should put your mind at rest a bit more with regards to the company itself.
If they seem to answer the sales question at the same time as the support request test, do it again at a random time (12 hours or more after the initial submission) to see if you are happy with the response the second time.

Ticket system was used, received the standard ticket details immediately but nothing since. The same email was sent to Vidahost which was responded to in minutes and based on the reviews at http://ochostreview.co.uk/ ive decided to sign up.
Keep your fingers crossed for me :D
