You have a nice portfolio, although small.... Your work is nice.
I would be interested in seeing what you could do for our logo. I like it (Just think it's still too plain) Current Logo (http://www.raq4less.com/images/logo.gif)
I would be interested in your "Real Corporate Identity" package, as I'd want to use the New Logo on the web as well as in Print. I would also expect original design files (.PSD) or whatever after payment is made.
The New Logo should work well with our current website layout, size and color scheme. Our Website is: Raq4less.com (http://www.raq4less.com)
danrak 07-20-2002, 01:49 PM How long will you have this special? I just need to come up with a slogan for the site and would like to purchase a logo, or business set from you.
Coolium 07-20-2002, 02:06 PM This is great offer. I dont need logo right now, but will you offer something like this later?
kcdworks 07-20-2002, 02:16 PM What format is everything provided in?
SimonMc 07-20-2002, 02:20 PM Thanks for the comments so far. They are certainly getting better as time goes on...so we must be doing something right.
If you want to see how we do business...take a look here The Logo Company Business Process (http://logo.hostmob.com/process.htm)
You will see how we process your orders and what our limitations are.
The portfolio currently displays around 20 logos...but we are adding to it daily. Most customers would prefer that we did not display their logo...so we have to respect their wishes.
Thanks again for the comments.

SimonMc 07-20-2002, 03:22 PM The list of supported file formats can be found here:

kcdworks 07-20-2002, 04:05 PM Simon, specifically, what format do the business cards come in? I'd like to have a version with editable contact info if I order.
SimonMc 07-20-2002, 04:07 PM I can provide the business card in most file formats. What do you have in mind? I am thinking PSD...but please let me know.
Simon
kcdworks 07-20-2002, 04:12 PM PSD is what I was thinking. I may wait until our new site is up ... we're going to try to match everything around it ... I may have the designer I hired for that quote me a price on the letterhead and biz cards ... but I like your deal so far.

No problem there. Thanks for the vote! Let me know if you want to take it further.

nohealing 07-20-2002, 04:16 PM SimonMC, in the logo with the surgeon, isn't the picture of the surgeon clip art ? I've seen it somewhere before.
nohealing 07-20-2002, 04:35 PM Wait, so Simon, you DID use clipart for a logo!
SimonMc 07-20-2002, 04:43 PM Come on guys...lets not get into a fight. This is afterall my thread....!!
I beleive that The Logo Company PORTFOLIO speaks for itself.

The special offer of full corporate identity can be seen here:
http://logo.hostmob.com/corporate.htm
I look forward to processing your orders.
Simon
nohealing 07-20-2002, 04:45 PM But you used clipart for one of the logos, I thought you made everything yourself, and customized ?!?!
Acroplex 07-20-2002, 04:54 PM *Self-censored as it's now out of context.*
nohealing 07-20-2002, 04:57 PM DAMNIT! Simon, is that clipart or is it not ?!?!

I swear that I've seen that piece somewhere on http://www.gograph.com
Please do explain...
nohealing 07-20-2002, 05:29 PM I thought I saw it in Microsoft or Corel clipart.
Chicken 07-20-2002, 08:07 PM If you are another designer, please do not post negative comments in another designer's thread, other potfolios, etc. I've removed a bunch of dribble from this thread, hopefully it can stay focused from now on.
(SH)Saeed 07-21-2002, 12:36 AM What's the big deal of using a clipart in a logo? I mean, that's what they're there for right? A lot of designers take ready pictures from sites like corbis.com. Are you going to jump on their case because they did not take a photo of a server or a business woman themselves? It's really pathetic and low how you guys try to ruin this poor guys offer. Grow up!
Synthetic 07-21-2002, 12:43 AM No, I think it's because he claimed that all work was original.
nohealing 07-21-2002, 01:03 AM Yes, SimonMC said all the work he does is 100% original. How can this be if he used clipart for at least one logo?
In my mind, technically this mean he lied, am I right?
And If I were to ask you; Do you like lies or liars? You would say no.
I'm not calling him a liar or anything of that caliber.
I thought the purpose of designing logo's is so that a corporate identity can have an image of its own, not one thats free and passed around the internet.
This is why I'm causing such a ruckus, I believe in professionalism Sarvi.
(SH)Saeed 07-21-2002, 01:09 AM I understand, but no matter what he says, what do you expect to get for $20? I mean, you wouldn't go pay someone $20 to make a unique logo/identity for you when you have an established and professional company. If I would pay this guy to make me a logo, I would simply expect something that looks good on my website and if he uses a clipart or a photo from corbis.com, I wouldn't care, as long as it looks good on my site.
This is just my opinion though.
nohealing 07-21-2002, 01:18 AM Of course, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I'd just wanted to hear from Simon. I think you'll find that using clipart in the design world is considered a big No-No by fellow designers. Its the whole reason you become a designer, so you can share your own personal talent and art skills, not someone elses, that happens to be on 60,000 other sites (exag.).
SimonMc 07-21-2002, 03:33 AM I am pleased to see that we managed to get ourselves back on track. I hope we can ignore the mis-quotes and move onto the real issue here....
$20 for a logo.....100% original (if required). Sorry but We do use some standard fonts...oh and some standard colors where necessary. Oh and some standard file formats...but apart from that 100% original... Just mention what you want on the order form...And The Logo Company will provide you with a really great logo.
$20 for a logo....From a template. Choose from our template gallery of 50 logos and we will turn one of our templates into a really great logo for your business.
$20 for a logo...that may use clipart! If you don't want clipart used on your logo..just say so on the order form.
The beauty of The Logo Company offer is that you the customer has the choice. All you have to do is tell us on the order form what you want...or what you don't want. It really is that easy.
And the best bit of all......

The $10 charge for each revision keeps me from ordering.
If I understand your order process correctly, you want a customer to 1) Place the order 2) Pay Upfront and then be happy with your first attempt?? Then Pay $10 more for you to try again if they are not happy with your first attempt.
I'm looking for something Original. A sorta MakeOver to our current logo.

You are absolutely correct!
That is why our intuitive order form allows you to give us as much information as possible. This means that we stand a better chance of getting the right logo for you first time.
Any other way of doing business would not be $20...Our business model is structured this way so that our prices are kept absolutely ROCK BOTTOM!
We can do you a 100% original logo! It will cost you $20. If you want to change it after delivery it will cost you another $10. Call it an incentive to give us as much information as possible at the time of ordering.
We already realise that this method of doing business does not suit everybody. But it does suit us.
