Which one do you prefer?

Fantastico all the way. It works perfectly with cPanel and WHM, making it perfect for us. Installatron had a massive bug when we tried it, and we couldnt make cPanel accept it...

I've never tried installing Installatron on cPanel/WHM yet, but with DirectAdmin it is absolutely great! Their pricing is brilliant too, I'm sure it has worked on cpanel/whm fine for others so the fact they support multiple control panels is also a great advantage. Fantastico is only for cPanel/WHM (as far as I'm aware) so doesn't attract me as much. Also, the website for Fantastico puts me off a bit, what's their sales and support like?! I don't know, I will repeat though that for me Installatron is great and my customers love it, though I've only used it on DA.

This would be a good comparison. I too want to know which is better of the 2.

Installatron can run on DiractAdmin as well.

Installatron all the way - They actually keep their scripts up to date and give you (the admin) the option of notifying clients that their script needs to be updated or even forcing the update if necessary.

Not having the skill to install it doesn't make it an inferior product ;)

Just to touch base on this, since I noticed someone else said the same thing in a different thread, but Fantastico now notifies clients of outdated scripts.

Fantastico in our view is far superiour to Installatron, its ease working with cPanel compared to Installatron is much easier.

I think a requirement for you to answer on this thread should be if you have actual experience with both installers. Please don't rattle cages if you have only used one.

I personally have used both and feel that they BOTH are very equal in features and work well with the control panel they were initially designed for. Installatron works brilliantly on Direct Admin much like Fantastico works brilliantly on cPanel. The comparison is really hard to do unless you talk about multi-platform issues, etc. Thus - installatron would have to win for it's attempt to work on cpanel. I think fantastico has stayed only with cpanel.

They both offer the same programs, give or take a few. They both install programs with a simple click and quick DB setup. So the to compare in this area would be pointless.

I have used both and I find Fantastico having more scripts. Installatron looks very nice though.

Installtron fo DirectAdmin is great, but there were issues with it and cpanel when we tried.

Offhand I cant recall the problems we had with it and have stuck with Fantastico for the shared hosting servers. It works, the scripts are updated regularly, and the new reminder options are very helpfull.

My vote is for Installatron.

Well then I guess I should specify that I have only used Fantastico... I don't use DirectAdmin, so I couldn't care less how Installatron works on DA. We use cPanel and Fantastico has been an excellent product for us for years. Very happy with it. :gthumb:
