It is impossible to install OS Update 3.0 (which is needed to upgrade the server to OS 4.0) on my RaQ3. There is no error massage, the package just won't install :(

The follow packages are installed so far:
All-Kernel_i386 Release 1.1
RaQ3-All-Security-Point Release 2.4
RaQ3-All-System-Point Release 2.3
RaQ3-Update-SSL Release 1.0
RaQ3E-Update-OS Release 2.0

You are gonna have to give us more than that. One, have your provider look at it (if you have a provider). Two, if you want help from the board, we can try but why won't this install? Or at least what problems are you having?

1) I send two emails (one yesterday and one today) to the provider (4WebSpace/Tera-Byte) but didn't received any reply so far (except auto reply).

2) The RaQ3 has 256MB Ram. I don't know why the OS Update 3.0 won't install. There is a only the "Loading and installing software package. This will take a moment..." message but it seems like that the installation hangs.

One of my friends got his RaQ3 from 4WebSpace last month but the box comes already with OS Update 3.0 and it was easy to upgrade to OS Update 4.0. My box comes only with OS Update 1.0.

The problem is without the latest OS is it impossible to install the latest security patches.

i found installing a few other patches first then installing the 3.0 os upgrade worked. It wouldnt install for me at first either. install all updates that are in the list below os update 3.0 and it will install then.

I installed already from http://www.cobalt.com/support/download/archive/raq3.eng.html :

try downloading the os3.0 patch and upload, you have to wait for 20-30 minutes for it to complete and yes it will sort of hang for 15-20 but after its done installing it will prompt you for a reboot :) then your set to update the rest.

Thanks for your help. Look like someone at Tera-Byte installed in the meantime OS Update 3.0 on my machine :)

the all kernal 1.1 update i think is affecting your update. you mighthave to start over.

we've just tryed loading os 4.0 on to our machine and it says that 3.0 isnt there funny thing is it is there .. guess its a bug.

Just updated to OS Update 4.0 :). You need to install
