View Full Version : [HELP] IHostDev is down, i cant accept new clients :(
YouHostMe[Julie] 07-04-2007, 05:36 PM I dont believe it, I just started offering free web hosting with forced ads using iPanel today, I got my first customer with free hosting just under an hour ago (only an hour after i setup ipanel) and now all of a sudden ihostdev.com is down, I cant access my ipanel and i cant accept signups because of the license validation,
Does anyone have any idea what i should do, because i need to access ipanel asap
Thanks
YouHostMe[Julie] 07-04-2007, 05:50 PM Yes but Ipanel is the only way of me forcing ads on the clients usernames without forcing ads on paid accounts, and i dont want to use 2 servers when i dont need to, the server is brand new and i pre-paid 3 months, and its big enough to hold free and paid clients :)
MicGoogle 07-04-2007, 10:21 PM Hello,
I've iPanel my seems to be working perfectly, i've a year license. What exactly are you experiencing?
hehachris 07-05-2007, 12:36 AM Don't they have at least a redundant server?
ihostdev 07-05-2007, 02:43 AM You'll find that happens quite a lot with their licensing system. There's nothing you can do except wait - and once it's back online - move to a decent billing system that doesn't rely on the vendors server like iPanel!
Not to sound you rude but you should know what you are talking about before you post comments like this in a public forum.
Our network provider had a outage for 20 mins around 5pm est.
We do have a redundant license server that takes over incase of any outage that is in a different country. To claim that this happens all the time please find the post here or on any other public form as there are none. We have had a redundant license system in place for over a year now.
This is the first and only customer who is experiencing this issue and if they are still having it can submit a support ticket. At the time of this post our site and main license server was online.
To the OP. Getting a invalid license message has no bearing on being able to accept new orders as the only area thats restricted is the admin area. If you are still experiencing this issue please do submit a ticket.

I couldn't have said it any better, check your IPs you listed in the ihostdev's control panel, that could be the conflicting issue.
YouHostMe[Julie] 07-05-2007, 11:46 AM I wasnt getting an invalid license error and Ipanel is a great script, the server was completely down today, and i could not access the admin area or client area on my site because of it,
The connection has timed out
The server at ihostdev.com is taking too long to respond.
* The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
moments.
* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.
* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
It was like that at least an hour, and it wasnt a network error on my part because i could access any other site, it was causing http://free.youhostme.com to time out completely, yet my server was up and has been since to moment it was put online, so it wasnt a server error for me either
I wasnt saying Ipanel sucks because it clearly doesnt, and i love it, i use that for free hosting and WHMCS for paid, and i will continue to do so, but it didnt look good from my point of view, considering i was only using it for 2 - 3 hours before it went down
@ IHostDev,
Please take a look at your error logs and try and fix it, because it doesnt look good when a potential client comes to signup and cant access the signup page, I had one client come onto live chat complaining because they could not sign up, obviously not something you can avoid but try and stop it happening so often :D
Thanks, it is working atm so i think this can be closed
MicGoogle 07-05-2007, 01:01 PM The problem seems to be at your end, not at iPanel's. This is very odd as i have iPanel too, are you on the latest version 3.1.15?
I usually have downtimes or outages emailed right away, and iPanel does this too, and personally with over 125 clients, i think i'd know if something went down, I come to disagree ihostdev was down, I'm thinking either your internet timed out (ie. router problems etc.) or your license is expired or you've a old file version.
ihostdev 07-05-2007, 01:27 PM YouHostMe[Julie]:
I was not trying to say you were complaining about the software. That was Hplace i was speaking to.
i am not sure what was going on with your installation as we only license the admin area for times like these or others that you can still accept signups.
MicGoogle:
There was a network outage that was for about 20 mins that was out of our control. Someone at the DC messed with the route while doing updates and caused the whole DC to go down. The server has been online and running without issues for over 6 months now since we started using it. The reason why you had no downtime is the backup server kicked in.
The only reason i can think of that you would have had a invalid license screen which is what that page not found when trying to login would have been is that the backup server runs on a cron. I ran the cron manually lastnight and it was ok i can only think that for some reason it didn't run recently and thus never backed up your license into the system.
We have a lot of customers from wht and i am sure some are reading this and no one else has posted any similar experiance's, along with no tickets except normal license issues due to changing servers ect.
