Are ensim packages easier to manage than raqs? I'm finding my Raq4 is really performing slow even with a 512mb and wondering if Ensim with more ram and faster processer would be better, but I'm not sure if I would be able to manage ensim....

Anything should run faster with "More Ram & Faster CPU". Ensim is a very popular CP and like anything else, with a little "trial & Error" You "Should" be able to manage it. Check their Forums for any support issues. Do a search on ensim here on WHT.
Before you take the plunge, try the demo versions of Ensim.
Can you install it?
Can you manage it?
Can you troubleshoot it?
You must have a very BUSY site in your Raq4 with 512mb of RAM. Congrats!!
The Raq servers perform VERY well when they have 512mb of RAM.
You may also want to consider the Raq550 as you "try" out Ensim. The Raq550 has a better CP then the Raq4 and the hardware has support for up to 2gb of RAM and comes with a faster processor compared to the 450mhz CPU of the Raq4.

Only if the user can keep it running! If they break it doing one of the "Command line patches" and are not knowledgeable enough with the CLI to troubleshoot & repair, then what do they have?
They have an Ensim server that beats a Raq if it would only work.
I didn't mean to start a "pee pee match" of ensim -vs- raq. Ensim is a fine CP, as is the Raq Cp. They are just different.
I'm just suggesting that the user "Do thier Homework" before taking the leap away from a Raq CP.
