I currently host over 30 domains through resold accounts, and have been doing it for a couple of years. It started out as a side business to my web development, but due to demand, has recently become a more focused part of my business. I anticipate at least doubling hosted accounts by the end of the year. The costs with my current host are growing as well, and I see that there may be better alternatives out there. Especially since I am locked into their package structure and the support is not where It needs to be. I am not able to host on Windows with them, and this is definitely becoming more of a neccessity. I am also trying to reduce my hosting cost, while maintaining a high level of support. Currently, I am paying nearly as much as what many of you charge your retail customers.
I am investigating switching to or adding another host for my resale accounts. Based on my reading here, I am looking specifically into matrixreseller.com. I have sent inquiries to them, but also have some questions I feel are best asked openly on this forum.
What is the length of time that matrixreseller.com has been in business? Have any of you experienced any outages with them and how soon have they responded? Within 2 hours, 4 hours, etc? Do they actually work to investigate and correct any server any issues or do you have to rely on your own capabilities to fix them? Is it true 24 hour support, and do you get to speak to a real person in an emergency?
Do they compete with you for hosting clients? If the company sells retail hosting, are you working separate division for your reseller account?
Any and all answers are appreciated. Of course, I am looking for as specific a reply as possible.
