Now that cwstatus.com is gone and I have no idea what is going on, I can just assume that NO ONE will be able to get the data back. Am I correct in saying this?

I would assume if I were you that CEO-Shawn has run off with your money and is not coming back. OR of course you can stand back and wait for the new data center to go live anyday now???

Better luck with your next host.

Where did this Cyberwings company come from, and why are they talked about so much?

Perhaps cyberwings flew off into cyberspace? ( /me makes a mental note: so thats where they got their name from! )

I think they are just changing dns ( though they could have done with no downtime, if they truely new what they were doing ). Perhaps the servers in the new dc are being held by the new dc staff? I heard that thursday - saturday was the target to get the servers up. I guess they hit another bump in the road.

Here is my guess:

The data on the Lightship servers won't be released until A) Shawn correct the situation with them or B) Lightship takes mercy on the users.

The data on the Rack Shack servers was more than likely moved/backed up by Cyberwings as Shawn said two days ago to back up all data.

Only a guess.

Perhaps we should all offer lightship some money to let the innocent users get thier data back.

I don't think it's just money. How can you tell whose data is whose?

Think about it ... you don't have any records at all. I could claim to be you and get your data.

Just boot 'em up and let those with logins download their stuff.

If you read Lightships letter to the users, they cannot do that. Cyberwings was their customer not the users, so the only one they feel they can give access to the data to is Cyberwings and they are only going to do that once CEO-Shawn pays his bill.

If they really wanted to be nice guys (ok I probably wouldn't do it either, but still) they could ask Shawn to send them a written approval to boot those servers up for say, a 12 hour window for people to login and download.

Yea I wouldn't bother either. But after a few hundred requests I might soften up and do it.

Yes, just came from the CW chat and the CW stooges even admitted that any files you had on their servers in Maine are gone for good. How's that for reliability? :D
