i am in a jam. much appreciate if someone can help.
i have a domain registered with EasyHosting/Look Communications in Canada back at a time when EasyHosting was a reseller using OpenSRS. my domain is due to be expired soon and I am trying to renew.
the problem is that EasyHosting's fee to renew is $19.95 / year, which is a riduous price compared to other firms such as NetFirms.com/NetFirms.ca that charges only $9.95 per year. Furthermore, both EasyHosting and NetFirms want me to transfer the domain OUT of OPENSRS and into their own since they have now become ICANN registrars.
i absolutely DO NOT want to do this because i like the independence of OpenSRS (even when the reseller goes down, your domain is fully protected); these companies are trying to force me to abandon OpenSRS.
can someone suggest GOOD QUALITY resellers in CANADA or US that will accept domain transfer but will allow me to continue using OpenSRS? my number one criterion is that the company must be well known, trustworthy, and excellent service (to the scale like NetFirms, GoDaddy, etc).
Who are the biggest OPENSRS reseller? who are the best known? is this a grand list of all OpenSRS reseller which i can look and compare?
