let me clarify:

say a customer purchases a hosting package in the middle of the month -- do you pro-rate his purchase for 15 days etc

OR the alternative?:confused:

thanks

We start the customer on the day they signed up. If/When they buy additional services we pro rate that to the day the origional service renews on.

WHMCS will bill the customer for a full month, and their next payment is due on that day the next month. It's the only way I would want to do it. We only pro-rate for addons and things like that. If they decide they want more databases in the middle of their billing cycle, we'll either pro-rate it or give it to them for free until their next bill.

Prorate? Yes. We bill twice per month, the first or fifteenth of the month. The customer is pro-rated to the next closest date. This makes things much easier for our billing department.

It would be much easer to pro-rate it if you did everything by hand. We use whmcs, and it starts the billing cycle for that client on the day they signed up. I think this is a great system.

We prorate for everything except dedicated servers from the 20th of the month forward....

WHMCS can pro-rate as well.

Hi, what I do is:

he purchases from 1 to 15, pays the pro-rate.
he purchases from 16 to 31, pays the pro-rate plus one month more.

so his next 1st of month, he'll pay the exactly monthly fee.

Greetings.

Greetings:

We use H-Sphere from http://www.psoft.net/ and it automatically provides the correct pro-rate amount when our accounting department processes a cancellation.

Thank you.
