Hello,

Does anyone know of a host that specializes in hosting Fine Art content? My site is currently small & simple, but
I would like the freedom to expand over time. Fine Art graphic files can be hard to cut down in size, so I guess
speed could be an issue. But I'm quite new at this, so any help or advice would be truly appreciated.

Thanks

Robert,

There are many hosts on this board that would be more than willing to help you get started. Please see:

http://webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?threadid=3053

for a listing of over 120 hosts. Hope that helps. If you need any help reducing the size of your images or any general questions feel free to e-mail me.

First off RB welcome to the board you can find lots of help here.
I look after my wifes site http://ArtbyJudy.com and was concerned as you are because when we had it on the free @home network it took ages for images to load. After extensive researching, asking and probing we settled on Tera-Byte.com and chose there plan 3 for the following reasons. Price, bandwidth provided and the speed was quite good. I found faster hosts but not enough to warrant paying double or more than they charge and Tera-Byte comes well regarded on this board and others.

If I can provide you with any more info please feel free to e-mail me at the link below

Thanks to both Paul and Graham

Graham, I did check out Tera-Byte. I was surprised to see they are based in Canada (judging by what they offer for the price)... very reasonable, and their server does seem quite fast. I would feel more inclined to try them out though if their more basic plans could be entered into on a month-to-month basis.

But they do seem to be offering good deals and I'll keep them in mind. The hosting market is so...well...
...overwhelming to say the least. Some of the other ones I'm considering are Next Generation and FutureQuest.
Do you know much about them?

By the way, Graham, I did check out your wife Judy's site.
Tell her Hi, and nice work from me.

Thanks for the advice.

Regards

Robert

Have no personal info on the other names but suggest you do a search here at http://www.webhostingtalk.com/search.php
and Sitepoint forum at http://sitepointforums.com/search.php
just plug in the names.

Tera-Byte has a 30 day money back guarantee which will permit you to opt out if you find you are not satisfied. I am also going to e-mail you some other suggestions.

Thanks for the nice comments for Judy and for signing her guestbook.
