Alright, here's the story. I just found out about this stite today, and am hoping to get some good, honest responses.

I am currently hosting my personal site through hostonce.com - NEVER AGAIN. They are so shady, it's not even funny.

My car club site is hosted through cyberwings - don't trust anything else that shawn guy posts on the net anymore, so I am planning on moving that too.

So it looks like I've had the best of the worst, now I'm looking for something much more stable/secure/fairly priced.

I need: Preferably around $20/month or less

php support
MYsql DBw/ at least 2 DB
ability to run 2 domains off of it, with at least 1 subdomain per site
500meg of storage space
10gig transfer a month
5 email forwards.

Could someone help me out with letting me know of a couple good hosting companies that could take care of this for me?

Thank-you

This should help you find a good host. Post in the Requests Forum(Be exact with what you want, and report the fools who offer you what you are not looking for). Then wait a couple of hours. At the end, take all the companies that offerd you a plan. Search for their name with webhostingtalks search function. Find the one with the best rateing, and thats your best chance.

The saying of "you get what you pay for" seems to fit in here. You'll probably get more specific offers if you post what your budget is or what kind of price you're looking for, as you'll just get the cheaper hosts offering you the same as your past two hosting companies (not saying that cheap hosts don't provide good services, there's a few out there that do). If you're willing to pay more for your hosting account, you're usually sure to get a better service.

One bit of advice that may save you future frustration. Don't look for the best deal. Cyberwings offered great deals, right? Nobody could beat those offers. Great, if you don't mind counting your downtime in months.

That's not to say you won't be cheated by hosts charging more, of course. Just always keep a current backup of your site, and be ready to move at a moments notice. :)

Best wishes,

I was previously with CW also................I have gone to dot5hosting.com...........My sites were up in less than 12 hours......
Support has been awesome..............and reviews on this forum were what sent me there in the first place...............As for uptime I haven't been there long enough to comment but as I said the reviews on this and another forum have all been very good.....

I wouldn't hesitate to say give them a try.........

You've only had 2 bad hosting companies? Consider yourself lucky. :)

Take a look at Telaserv.net They have a plan that fits your requirements, and budget if you don't mind paying annually. You can pay monthly, but it costs a little more. I have been hosting with them for two years and am very happy.

Give mehost.com a try. This is because not much host allow multiple domains too be hosted off 1 account.

I purchased a reseller account on dixiesys.com Thats Dixie Systems. I like the company, the support and the service. Signed up on the easter special and the owner Gary has been true to his word. www.dixiesys.com is my recommendation for a hosting company.

Eheh, my thoughts too -- but hey, if a dot5 customer is that happy with them, I have no problem hearing about it frequently :)

Better to hear constant good stuff than constant bad stuff...

I'm glad that he's happy, and dot5hosting seems like a very good and reliable company, but it's beginning to seem like he's recommending them just for the sake of recommendation.
