kunal 02-22-2001, 12:33 AM authorize.net
payststems.com
cybercash.com
are just a few...
acetate 02-22-2001, 10:34 AM cardservice.com (LinkPoint Gateway).
However if you sign up directly from them, it's pretty expensive. Find a webhost that resells CS's services and you can have the setup fee waived.
Here are a couple of host I found:
MoonSlice.com (http://www.moonslice.com/onlinepayments.htm)
Primus (http://www.shore.net/products/ecommerce-csi.html)
Here's a list of CSI's CSP:

gtpspeed 02-22-2001, 11:11 AM I signed up with Charge.com. You can pay $200 for the online virtual terminal (purchase) or lease it, the rates are very competitive. You do all your online processing through authorize.net, so you can setup an online payment system for your clients very easily and at no extra charge. I've been with them for about 6 months with no problems.
Another thing - it seems like a lot of the companies are resellers that initiate your account, and don't really support you afterwards. For instance, with Charge.com, they will open merchant accounts w/ CreditCards.com for visa/mc, and setup the online processing w/ authorize.net, and will setup Discover/AMEX, if you don't have it already. So, when I need support, I call creditcards.com, discover, or amex. The only thing Charge.com will really do for you once your account is setup is provide points of contact for the particular issue, they can't really do anything for you. I did have a problem with a request for a temporary increase of my processing limit, but I escalated it to the manager and had no problems after that.

Paul_Szymanski 02-22-2001, 01:02 PM GTSpeed,
Try Humboldt Bank at:
http://merchant.humboldtbank.com/
They are not a reseller and are the actual bank that provides the account.
$200 signup fee for e-check and credit cards through authorize.net
2.2% + $.20 per transaction.
There is NO fee for the virtual terminal as it doesn't cost anything to make. There is also a statement fee and gateway fee but I can't remember that offhand right now. E-mail me if you need more information.
rajiv 02-22-2001, 03:44 PM From earlier treads and prices I think I may go with charge.com - But I have 10 more days to go..
so I am still look for suggestions.....
Thank you in advance..

gtpspeed 02-22-2001, 07:34 PM Hi Paul - hmm, I'm going to look into that bank, I'm getting ready to open another merchant account, so maybe I'll give them a try. My monthly fees (gateway, etc), comes to $35/mo, I believe. Does that sound close to what your paying?
SI-Chris 02-23-2001, 12:02 AM You might want to take a look at http://www.ezmerchantaccounts.com
scottlaw 02-23-2001, 12:03 AM I would recommend you stay clear of Card Service International and any of their "affiliates"... They have complaints against them in AG office in both MO and KS. They have been know to hike fees without notice, terminate accounts without notice, take extra fees out of your checking account, refuse to cancel contracts when you elect not to renew, and charge early termination fees when they do acknowledge your non-renewal request.
In all a horribly unethical company... The way they set fees differently depending on who the "affiliate" is you go through should be the first sign to say away from them.

Paul_Szymanski 02-26-2001, 11:59 AM GT,
Actually I looked it's $25.00 per month for the gateway and statement fee together, so it might be a little bit cheaper for you actually. :)
rajiv 02-26-2001, 03:18 PM How is their support??
Thank you,
Rajiv Mehta
Paul_Szymanski 02-26-2001, 04:07 PM Well you actually deal with authorize.net. You can pick if you want cybercash or authorize.net plus one other. The fees I gave you were for when you chose the authorize.net.
All customer support is handled through authorize.net. I've only had to call once and they helped me right away. Good luck.
rajiv 02-26-2001, 04:16 PM Whom are you talking about??
Charge.com??
or some one else??
Thank you,
Rajiv Mehta

gtpspeed 02-26-2001, 08:18 PM I requested the info for humbolt bank, it looks like their prices have changed. The seem to require a lot more paperwork too, taxes for last two years, current business financials. The application for charge.com is pretty simple. Here is what I received:

rajiv 02-27-2001, 01:58 AM I emailed charge.com and asked is their any discount available on software.
They said if you want Internet processing you only need terminal and as you are asking for discount.
If you attach this email to your application we will give you 50% discount of terminal...
That means now the terminal is for $97.50 only for me
Mafukie 02-27-2001, 02:29 AM You need an Online Merchant account with your bank before you use the gateway e.g. ( verisign.com, cybercash.com, ect. )
So check with your bank for availability before signing up with a gateway.
Best of luck.

JamesBond 02-27-2001, 07:21 PM I am interested in signing up with charge.com.
I don't live in the US but I visit frequently (Boston MA), and I'm thinking of opening a merchant account with a US bank.
I read that charge.com does also accept international businesses.
Anyone know any banks (preferably Boston area) who offer merchant accounts for businesses outside of the US?
Regards,
JamesBond
JustinH 02-28-2001, 01:48 AM I would have to say my favorite is Electronic Clearing House. Here's their price/fee listings:
Installation Fee: $99.00
Discount Rate: 2.49%*
Transaction Fee: $0.30
AVS: No Charge
Chargeback Fee: $5.00 for each one over 5
Technical Support Fee: $10.00 per month when active
(not charged if no activity)
There is no gateway fee or statement fee or minimum processing fee. At this point you can only accept Visa/Mastercard, but they are cheap (much cheaper then charge.com, and to be honest, comparable to revecom, accept it's your merchant account). They like ISPs to resell there service, which is very cool, considering their low prices. However, you do have to create your own API to there secure server, but it's well worth it.

What's their URL address?
JamesBond 02-28-2001, 06:12 AM I found netbilling.com
They seem very cheap, and you can fill out a form there if you're still looking for a merchant account (like i am :) )
setup $199
$25 per month gateway / maintenance fee
Discount Rate: 1.50%
Transaction Fee: $0.15
Anyone have any experience with netbilling.com?
rajiv 02-28-2001, 07:08 AM Nice prices
Any experiences??
JustinH 02-28-2001, 02:05 PM I'm such a smart guy when I'm tired.
http://www.echo-inc.com (their web site looks like crap). Check out the echonline service (that's the real-time merchant account).
JustinH 02-28-2001, 02:21 PM I just spoke to a customer service rep at netbilling.com, just wanted to hand a forwarning.
Netbilling.com does NOT offer the merchant account, they simply offer the payment gateway (like cybercash for example). So the fees listed aren't neccesarily it.
Setup Fee: $199
Discount Fee: 1.5%
Transaction Fee: $.15
Those are just netbilling.com's fees, the average bank is:
Statement Fee: $10.00
Discount Fee: 2.5%
Transactio Fee: $.30
Minimum Monthly Processing Fee: $25.00
So if you already have a merchant account, you can go for netbilling.com (however, I would work with cybercash), but if you want the whole deal, stick with ECHO.
rajiv 02-28-2001, 04:24 PM Echo's prices are great..
What about support, etc.. Has any one tried..
Thank you,
Rajiv Mehta
JustinH 02-28-2001, 04:33 PM For me their support has been wonderful, as of yet I haven't had any problems. They've answered every question, and once your account is setup they give you a toll-free number for technical support issues. They don't respond by email very well during the weekend but (I haven't tested this) I do believe their billing support number is 24 hours.
pbrady1581 02-28-2001, 07:31 PM Hi,
I use charge.com for my merchant account. pretty cheap and believe me, I checked everywhere. They backend to authorize.net as well as one other gateway.
Here's the link:

looks like a referral link
dektong 02-28-2001, 08:06 PM isn't it considered advertising in a non advertising forum? :D
cheers,

JustinH 03-01-2001, 03:06 AM Some people are kinda funny... you'd think he'd realize that people know what referral links look like...
