I would like to know, which e-commerce system is best and *easiest* to configure/customise for online shop solution.

looking for something pretty straight forward with payment gateway option like "paypal" enabled also.

any recommendations kindly appreciated :-))

Jayc08,

Slow down, neither! :) Zencart.
It's an offshoot of OsCommerce but more thoroughly developed.

Enjoy!

I know you didn't specify it - but have you looked at Zen Cart?

edit: David beat me to it :)

Zen Cart isn't bad at all. Basically OS Commerce on steroids and is more readily updated than OS Commerce. Don't let it's look scare you as it's not hard to customize the appearance to fit your needs. Some simple CSS changes on your part can improve it 100%.

Out of the 3 hear mentioned, I like CubeCart. To me ZenCart is so bloated -- full of stuff you don't really need but looks cool.

I had a very easy time customizing my CubeCart templates (XHTML is 100% seperate from code and XHTML & CSS too!) and I even managed to modify the back-end code pretty extensively to my needs.

I would go with CubeCart!

Been using OScommerce for >2yrs now on my site and
am very happy with it. Never got hacked. Transactions go cool.
No probs. Am all for OS commerce guys :)

Recommend the osCommerce, you will get more contribution for it.

Oscommerce is best i think so, In past i have recommended a lot. I would say try it and if it suits your need then make a move with it.

CubeCart for its simplicity to configure and skin. Best of all while its free to use if you keep the copyrights it is actively commercially developed which neither Zen or Osc are.

Best way to go! Thats what I did with all 3 too when I was trying to decide. I think you will probably stay clear of OSC ... compared to ZenCart and CubeCart.

Zen-cart all the way even though you didnt give as a choice. 4 coders the worked on OSC got tired of the BS and decided to create their own which went a different direction and created a far superior product. Bonus their community is faster to help and more polite then the the nubs at OSC forum.
