> About Us
Based in Las Vegas, NV, ServerPoint has been concentrated in the hosting business since before 1998, even before other companies recognized the importance of the hosting industry and switched their business focus to it. Hosting is all we do, then and now.

With our own fully redundant network and facilities, we can provide you with the highest possible uptime and quality environment your server needs.

> Quick facts

We are multi homed - meaning we have our own network ID (known as an Autonomous System Number) on the net, do BGP with multiple providers (with our *own* routers, not someone else's) and have full control over our connectivity. This alone puts our service level beyond almost every other hosting provider.
We own every single piece of equipment involved with our operation, so when something fails, we just walk in and fix it. We do not depend on third parties.
We've been here since 1998, and we'll be here tomorrow.
We are a *true* hosting company. We are not resellers!
High level of customer satisfaction.

Is this all? No. We are a custom solutions house. Whether you need a server like those above, or a multi CPU server with terabytes of RAID based storage, we can build it for you. We also offer great deals on colocation services.

To take advantage of this offer, mention that you are a reader of this forum when placing the order. We accept all major credit cards and paypal (ID verification required). All orders go through a thorough verification process to prevent fraud and protect the general public from identity theft.

That is doable. However, Core2Duos do not take 4GBs of RAM. Intel's line of desktop chipsets are limited to 3.2GBs of RAM. The motherboard might say it takes 4GBs of RAM, but about 800MBs of RAM are then reserved for "system resources" which is pretty much a waste of RAM.

To get 4GBs of RAM, you either need an AMD X2 or a CPU using Intel's x000 chipsets, such as 3000/5000 series. Those are available in our line of quad xeon servers.

An additional hard drive is $25.99/mo, and Windows server standard is $20/mo.

Each GB of RAM is $24.99/mo.

Once you let me know what kind of machine you want to be able to take the 4GBs of RAM, I can come up with a good price for it...

I can do a Pentium 4 for $69/mo. That's the lowest we can go on a server right now due to rising costs of electricity.

On the posting above, there is a link to our ping/speed test page.

Would it be possible to get a Core2 Duo with 3GB of memory?

Did you have any Core2's available that are faster than 2Ghz?

With 3GBs, yes. How much faster do you want it? We can special order any CPU.

ok. Base price of a 2.0 Core2Duo is $99/mo.

The price difference to a 2.4Ghz adds up $45/mo. The 2.4, even though it's just 0.4Ghz more has a price of more than twice that of the 2.0.

Additional 2GBs of RAM is $49.98/mo, $50 setup.

ADditional 160GB drive is $19.99/mo, $25 setup

Total is $214.96. I can do $191.99/mo and $50 setup.

Our half off first month offer would not apply to this though since it's a custom order and not from the bulk inventory we already have.

Unfortunately, no. Anything with cpanel would be a minimum $100/mo.

cPanel alone costs us $35-$40/m. We can't have cPanel be 50% or more of the total monthly cost.

I can do a P4 2.4Ghz, one drive only, 1GB of RAM and that bandwidth for $99.99. That's the absolute lowest we can do when cPanel is involved.

We actually have a few Pentium 4 3.0 servers with 3ware hardware RAID cards in them for $129.99/mo. With 2GBs of RAM it would be $145/mo.

However, most of them have 160GB drives. Do you need 250 or 320? We can always upgrade them for a small fee.

he just said that cPanel is $45/month alone. $99 is the absolute cheapest he can do a deal with cPanel (in his own words).

Drop the cPanel, go with webmin (or no panel), and you can *probably* get that deal for $85/month.

Unfortunately, of all the panels out there, cPanel is the most expensive one. In my opinion though, it is the best. :) At least from the support standpoint, we see less problems with cPanel servers than with other panels.

The system with the Core2 Duo seems a little expensive for the money after I do all those upgrades.

I could maybe try going with a Xeon system.

What price can you do on this setup:
-2.4Ghz Quad Core Xeon
-4GB Ram
-2 Hard Drives
-Linux
-7mbps Bandwidth
-4 IPs

That would be the base price, plus $50/m for an additional 2GBs of RAM, and $25/mo for the additional drive.

We only have one of these quad core xeons in stock at this time.
