I am new to webhosting and i am building a hosting company directed to a particular niche.

I would like to know the best place and how to spend a $100 budget a day for at least 1 month.

Also any estimated clients i can get by this advertisement budget a day?

Thanks a lot

Having a $100 dollar budget for advertising and starting a hosting company?

Not the best idea but I suppose it has been tried by people before.

I'd assume you could get a reseller account for pretty cheap for reselling web hosting or a VPS even if you have some management skills.

On the advertising budget your on your own, maybe a local newspaper ad for $50 ? ;-)

You can't expect to spend $100 once and have it going, it takes time to build up a business. I'd suggest you start looking more long-term and raising your budget.

Wow, I completely misread that sorry, because I was posting at night :P.

That sounds like a much more gracious budget ;-).

Do you have experience with hosting? Are you trying to do hosting, colocation, or dedicated servers?

Google Adwords might be a good place with that budget.

biztechz,

If you're new to hosting, then I wouldn't waste $100/day on advertising, unless you somehow managed to fluke a good setup. :)

Start small and work your way up. Google adwords sounds like a good fit, if you're targetting a niche market. You can start with a few bucks/day, and work your way up. Just make sure your keywords match your landing page, and the landing page's heading etc . . .

Have you looked into banner advertising? This can be a great way to get your name out there, and $100 isn't that low. That's roughly $3,000 per month, which would get you some decent campaigns out there. :)

The hardest part about getting up and started is probibly getting a steady stream of customers. Advertising is a great way to go but you can even begin to advertise until you have everything else set up right.

First you are going to need a web site, it does need to be apealing and attact visitors to the prices where they will be instantly hooked (Daydreaming...)

When you have a site, and domain name then you should start getting it all setup on a server. With a generous budget like that then you should go with a dedicated server from a good company. You don't have to go with the biggest dedicated server you can find, because until you have a lot of customers there isn't much need.

Please remember this: Even though you have a generous budget don't blast it all away. If you don't spend the budget, guess what? You'll have even more next month! :)

Basically any starting hosting company shouldn't be churning through 3k startup costs. People have started sucsessfull hosting companys on the budget of $100 a month, but some more certainlly does help.

You also have to think about what kind of support you are going to offer, with a good budget you can out source your support and have 24/7 support for a reasonable price.

After that you can expand and have some SEO done, paid advertising even here on WHT :)

Domain name: ~ $10
Web design: ~ $500
Dedicated server: ~ $120
24/7 support staff: ~ $1 to $2 per ticket answered
SEO: ~ Another few hundred?
Server management: ~ $30 a month

Then you can spend a lot on advertising :)

Good luck!

It is too big for a new company.Yes it is a good budget but first you have to some grow up with 100$/mo .Then you incrise the ads i think. So you learn the ad places yourself.

I offer domain, hosting, webmaster forums by google ads, And making some contests, like seo contest etc.Giving some free hosts and review them on forums etc.

Newspapers are not very effective from what I've heard from other people - you'll be lucky to get even 1 call about it, even if it's a product that a lot of people buy.

It's hard to tell you how to advertise without knowing the niche though... if you want to chat in private sometime, drop me a message. Word of mouth is very effective assuming it's a service that people use. Another effective thing is not spending money directly on advertising, but by letting people try it for free.

If you're selling burritos - hand out thousands of free burrito cards with no string attached like "With a large drink purchase." Let the customers come in through the doors, grab a free burrito, free cup of water, and leave. If your product will stand behind what you're saying, this is a very good way of doing it.

I'm not sure how experienced you are, but talk as much as possible about your ideas. Get together with people at a restaraunt or whatever, and talk to them. Networking is one of the most important things ever in business and sometimes just knowing the right person and being in the right place can be a goldmine :)
