View Full Version : Best *Free* Ticket based support system
jayc08 06-22-2007, 09:20 PM hi, i was wondering apart from paid ticket support sys like kayako for e.g.
is there a *free* alternative script that provides a reasonably solid ticket based support system?.
any help appreciated :)
winger 06-22-2007, 09:55 PM take a look at http://www.cerberusweb.com/ the free licence works with only one mailbox, but works very well!
Malatya 06-22-2007, 09:56 PM I havent see it on net.And also you can not get the same performance from a free one on this sector.Support system is always using by bigger sites, so the coders want some money.I am looking forward to relpies for seeing a free one.
Thanks

Somewhat complex but pretty powerful software.
travisbell 06-23-2007, 01:56 PM Take a look at Helperoo, http://www.helperoo.com/
Works pretty great, just launched and seems to be working very well.
Cheers,
Mortekai 06-23-2007, 04:39 PM e-ticket is also a free ticket system if you want to take a look at it:
http://sourceforge.net/project/screenshots.php?group_id=132967
ATLDedicated 06-23-2007, 10:28 PM I just took a look at e-ticket and it looks pretty nice. I will have to give that one a try if I get some free time.

HE/LW-Sam 06-23-2007, 11:50 PM I tried both of them, didnt like it though..
Just love the simplicity of whmcs ticketing system :D

I agree. I've messed with Cerberus (free version) but I really disliked their install process and felt the administration was a bit bloated for my needs at the time. Good luck!
Tom P 06-24-2007, 04:21 AM A while ago somebody was looking for a free support ticket system, and the one I suggested then was: http://www.maianscriptworld.co.uk/scripts_support.html and I still do recommened it.
Its a good realible, and professional script for free of course ;)
Might be worth having a look at.
Vinayak_Sharma 06-24-2007, 05:35 AM Two more to check out

Mxhub 06-24-2007, 07:25 AM I play with Cerberus before. I still prefer light weight helpdesk intergrated in whmcs.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/eticket look nice from the screenshot.
Vinayak_Sharma 06-24-2007, 08:31 AM eTicket (http://sourceforge.net/projects/eticket) is a fork of osTicket (http://www.osticket.com) which also have got another fork known as osTicket Community Version (http://osticketcommunity.ath.cx/trac)
James-Fagan 06-24-2007, 08:35 AM Another hit for cerberus :agree:
mattnbrown 06-24-2007, 09:42 AM Having used osTicket 1.3.1 - I was pretty impressed without. Worth a shot.
mesobob 06-24-2007, 11:03 AM Support Trio has a limited free/trial version, not sure if it`s any good or not...

Kristie Holly 06-25-2007, 02:21 AM if you own the server there is cpanel pro which is if you have cpanel for the control panel of the server then you should use that one as it comes with cpanel and is currently free :))

cPanel's "desk" is horrible, they need to stick with building their control panel & not these silly little extensions.
Leave those to the pros ;)
zinctech 06-25-2007, 08:15 PM hotscripts are ace look on there for some.
djweis 06-26-2007, 07:41 PM We use RT from bestpractical com/rt/

vajjas1 06-26-2007, 11:51 PM Since cereberus is the msot preffered system, i want to give it a try, but what does this mean?
You can only manage a single incoming e-mail address.
You are limited to 3 users
I can only have 3 support persons? and what's the impact of having only a single incomming address?
subzer0 08-12-2007, 03:36 AM Take a look at Helperoo, http://www.helperoo.com/

You wouldn't happen to be the person in Calgary who runs it, would you? :stickout:
But seriously, it looks pretty interesting.. do you know a helperoo support site we can take a look at? I am curious to see what the "customer" who needs support will see.
Thanks.

Shaw Networks 02-20-2008, 07:15 PM take a look at http://www.cerberusweb.com/ the free licence works with only one mailbox, but works very well!
If you're on a shoe string budget, nothing is better than the free version of Cerberus. Their e-mail piping feature works flawlessly and the client side of Cerberus is very well designed and asethically pleasing :)
