dot.K 07-18-2002, 03:04 PM Does anyone have the same problem as I am having ?
Can't seem to reach any of my websites hosted there, not the mainpage nor the support. Pings go dead.
Hop 18 is the last I see .. from there on, packetloss

alchiba 07-18-2002, 03:07 PM Same problem here. I reach them through Time Warner, who is apparently having the problem.
April 07-18-2002, 03:18 PM Host rocket is down for me aswell, was just to about make a post about this, but seeing as you already have.
*hmph, anyone know if frontdrive is any good? the summer special seems nice just haven't seen much feedback on them.
jenkins 07-18-2002, 03:20 PM Okay, that's strange. Yeah, my HR-hosted website doesn't work (what else is new), but neither does the Host Rocket website itself, which normally does work, cause they are brilliant enough to put themselves somewhere decent (ie. the only good server, a totally different one).
dot.K 07-18-2002, 03:24 PM I have 7 or 8 different accounts there and it's the first actual problem I have in a year. I have absolutely no complaints on their service.
April 07-18-2002, 03:28 PM the only complaint i've had so far is when someone got into there system or whatever & got my moms credit card # and many others, other than that i s'pose they've been fairly okay... but my moms still extremely paranoid about them
Rewdog 07-18-2002, 03:28 PM Seems the whole network is down, can't get to our rackfast server either.

April, I can imagine. When did this thing happen ?
April 07-18-2002, 03:37 PM A letter was sent November 23, 2001 reguarding the situation & how the planned to fix it.
dot.K 07-18-2002, 03:40 PM Did someone actually abuse your mothers creditcard as a result of the hack ?
April 07-18-2002, 03:45 PM no, but like i said my mother is a extremely paranoid person, she flipped & canceled her credit card immediatly
dot.K 07-18-2002, 03:49 PM Hehe, I'd prolly do the exact same thing, it's MYYYY money :D
Anyway, HR is back up and running, I'm a happy chappy again.
Topic can be closed dear Admin mister sir
Prince 08-05-2002, 05:21 PM All I can do is shake my head.
I moved my sites from HR a few months ago because of never ending down time and problems with my sites.
I see nothing has changed at HR.... when will people learn.
I was over at their support forums, and just as I remember from months ago there were several threads from members bitching about their site being down, no support, etc.
For those of you still using HR's services, wake up and find a new host! The problems will never end.
Prince, you can't save people from themselves. Just look at the people waiting for cyberwings to set up their account.
I've been there, done that myself. I waited for four months (listening to excuses, and promises) for HR to get cgi running. It never happened. Imagine a paying for a webhost without cgi working. (they told us to use php apps instead) I visited their forums months later and it still wasn't working. (hint you have to check often because posts with the word "Blank cgi pages" get deleted pretty fast)
phantom 08-16-2002, 06:30 PM i wish i saw this thread when i bought from Host "friggin" Rocket
i too am having a problem with my cgi-bin...
I signed up to Hostrocket, been a customer for about a month now....gonna switch to new provider...
their SUPPORT SUCKS THE BIG ONE...and their so called "3rd level support" well, let me tell ya...wait, I promise its not going to be a long story....
consider this:
how would you like it if you had a HIGH priorty case THAT you paid $3bucks for and NO RESPONSE for 5 FRIGGIN DAYS!!!
my whole CGI-BIN folder had been locked, one day around 1130 in the morning..but when i log in all the permsions are set correctly...check the error logs and keep seeing unable to write messages...so i know for a fact i know i haven't done anything!
and please do not respond with stuff like: check permissions, and make sure its not in binary mode...i am better than that...
so there so called level 3 support was able to correct one of my apps in the cgi bin but did not correct the other...and he did not mention what he has done to correct it...now 2 days later they don't even respond with any ack or any further followup
now 5 day outage is a bit extreme dontcha think?!!
some of you might side on hostrocket's support, thats fine, its your perogotive....but that whole line that says: 24/7 support avail is a crock of bull its more like from 11am to 4pm each day
so long story short don't go to hostrocket...their support sucks, turnaround time sucks and customer service is way below par!!
don't listen to anyone that says hostrocket is great cause they are not...slow servers, slow email, and through in some downtime...whatcha got? --HOSTROCKET !!!
viGeek 08-16-2002, 06:36 PM I have been a HostRocket customer for quite sometime now. This is the first problem I have ever had with them. They are still a great host IMO.
phantom 08-16-2002, 07:29 PM start using your cgi bin and then we'll see how fast you change your tune!
viGeek 08-17-2002, 05:11 AM 15 Scripts in my CGI-Bin currently :)
