Which bulletin board should I use for my forums? Invision Board, WBB or phpBB2? I want a board which is fast, has a lot of features (or hacks/add-ons) and suitable for popular forums.

Rotifer 07-18-2002, 02:19 PM If you want a free one, I would go with phpBB2. Koopa 07-18-2002, 02:23 PM I read somewhere that phpbb2 takes longer to load than the first version.... Is this true? If I get enough money, I may convert to vBulletin in the future. Thanks Rotifer 07-18-2002, 02:25 PM I never used the first one, can't answer that. Koopa 07-18-2002, 02:27 PM Ok, thanks for your help. I'll give phpBB2 a try :) Rotifer 07-18-2002, 02:31 PM You are welcome, there is also quite a bit of information available if you do a search here. Lots of people would argue with my choice of phpBB2! :D Phrozen 07-18-2002, 02:34 PM Originally posted by Rotifer Lots of people would argue with my choice of phpBB2! :D Not me. I've been using/testing it since the the early betas... November of last year if I remember correctly. It sure has come a long way since then. I highly recommend it. I am in the process of setting up a bulleting board myself and I did try phpbb. I had problems during the initial install and had asked for assistance on the phpbb forums. I know since I didn't pay for support, nobody has to help me, but that is what happened. Plus, all I read about on the phpbb forum was about people having problems. I then tried InvisionBoard and even I, a novice at this type of thing, had it installed and working in less than 15 minutes. Lately, I just haven't had the time to write everything for it and open it up. Hopefully, that will happen soon. This is just my opinion, though. There are obviously a ton of people out there using phpbb and other free boards just fine. I prefer InvisionBoard hands down. FDrive 07-18-2002, 06:08 PM InvisionBoard, all the way. Synthetic 07-18-2002, 06:32 PM I am running InvisionBoard as well. I just love it! Orc 07-18-2002, 06:42 PM Ive been using WBB v1 for the past 4 months on my forums, 23,000 posts later and its still running sweet. I love wbb, although im planning to upgrade to vbulletin when Jelsoft release V3. :D Gem Hexen 07-18-2002, 11:08 PM Originally posted by X_Treme I read somewhere that phpbb2 takes longer to load than the first version....
