View Full Version : Does request count as Ads (for the 5 days rule)?

Does request also counts as ads in the advertisment forum?

I appreciate if a mod can verify this for me.

Also, as a feedback, I think the wording in the forum rules needs to be clarified, whether this is the case or not.

Thanks,

Peter

I would take, "if your company is represented by more than one person only one ad per 5 days may be posted in the advertising forums regarding your companies" to mean that you can't post ads more often than once every 5 days.

SWR, I am not sure what your interpretation is. Could you clarify for me?

Do you mean to say ad == request or ad != request?

Thanks,

Peter

I would not think that a "request" could come 'close' to being mis-interpreted as an ad.

You may want to wait for a mod though.

Maybe they think requests are ads. But, then it would seem that responses to requests would be ads as well. And responses to ads could be ads. :D

Correct me if I am wrong: request are still advertisement, because they advertise an intention. (?)

I'll wait for a mod to answer you. But, requests are requests. And ads are ads.

I suppose, with the liberal signature rules here, you could consider 'any' response an ad.

Hmmm . . . . . maybe we should get rid of signatures.

This only applies to the Related Offers and Request Forum...

For the most part, this forum and the filter works well. There is one slight issue however which is problematic. The issue is that a request and an ad cannot be posted within 5 days of each-other.

For example:

You post an offer in Related Offers offering a script you made. You cannot post a request for cpanel licenses within 5 days.

If this situation arises, please contact the mods and you will be instructed on how we handle this.

If you're talking about other forums, I believe the forums filter independantly and posting a request in the Requests Forum does not affect a special offer posted in Web Hosting Special Offers. *I believe* being the operative phrase, this could be wrong.

What about posting two requests in the web hosting requests forum in less than 5 days?

That would also trip the filter, however we can work around that. Just contact us about the issue (if it arises) and we'll help. Alternatively you can try to request things at least 5 days apart :D

I personally don't have a need to post in less than 5 days. I was more concern about the legality of it. Specifically,

Thanks for any clarification.
