please tell me if i'm missing anything on starting up a reselling business.

so far i have all the following down: web host reseller company (i'll probably go with venturesonline.com), domain registration reselling package (probably alldomains.com), merchant account provider (revecom.com), web site design (i'll do that), advertising (me again), check local regulations on business licensing, check taxes on business, get voicemail# for tech support, learn unix & save up for dedicated unix server (recommendations on who to get that from?).

Yes you`ve got it all covered dvaeorn.

Alldomains.com was interesting.
But what is the difference between "English Character" and "Multilingual" domains?

COM/NET/ORG English Character
$12 per domain per year

COM/NET/ORG Multilingual
$14 per domain per year

Domain names have been restricted to English only, but by using multilingual domain means yo can type the domain name in other languages. The most bizarre feature is that now you can have your domain type in some chinese/arabic character like http://www.<chinese_character>.com . Isn't that cool? :D

If you want to pay $75 to become a reseller, then I will suggest bulkregister.com. Your price will go down to $10/yr after you register 50 domains. Sometimes they have a really good offer at $10/yr regardless how many domains you have registered. About few weeks ago, in celebrating Ravens winning the Superbowl, they let all the reseller register domains for $6.50/yr (or $6.95?)... [only lasted for several days though :(]

Anyway, my point is with bulkregister, you can pay cheaper than that...

If you search really hard, you may even get a reseller account for free and you can register domain at around $10/yr...

As for myself, I have a reseller account with both bulkregister.com and enom.com.... Paid $79 to become a reseller at Bulkregister.com, but don't really like their interface. I only registered two domains with them... With enom (no charge to become a reseller), I got a better deal and their interface is really great... Your clients can even administer their own domains through an interface which you can brand it your way...

i can find the pricing for a regular account with enom.com, but not any reseller pricing.

dektong: you said that you have an account with them. what's the pricing per amount of signups on their reseller plan?

I think you just need to sign up, and then ask them (call/email) to convert it to reseller account. Once you have done it, you will get the reseller price... If it's higher than $9.95, ask them to lower it down to $9.95... Note: email correspondence may take longer than what you though (especially with the owner, Matt), but it worths the wait... I found Enom.com to be quite good.... Just sign up as a reseller, try out their service, and you will understand what I mean... Good luck
