I've seen almost all registrars provide 'Website builder', does any use or ever has? does it have any real value?

I mean, today everyone can create html or php pages, or people hire designers etc..

Who wants a website builder with limited set of templates these days?

No, I'm talking about website builders in general. Offered by GoDaddy, or anyone else. I believe it has no substance.

How many (percent) of your customers really use and like Website Builder?

Of my cpanel ior helm, none. Of my hsphere, near all. Around 95% of 60-70

Somes do basics, some do more complicated. Uam thinking in purchase sitestudiio for cpanel for other reasons.

well, some customers really need web site builder to create test web site or just home page web site, some spend more time working with site builder and get very god-looking sites 9as for those made in site builder), Thus, if this can help - i see nothing bad in it.

around 10% to 15% of our customers use siteZen and are pretty happy with it. On the surface, Zen's templates seem pretty boring, but once you realize the extent to which they can be customized and personalized, and how easy it is, you understand the value.

Only about 5% of our customers use the site builder program. About 40% have us do the design and the rest use their own methods or programs.

I honestly think they are all worthless. None of my clients have ever asked about them, but i have thought a little bit about offering one just because so many other hosts do. Dont want someone to choose another host over me just because of some silly sitebuilder. =P

Anyone else agree that the final versions of sites that people build with those "site builders" are horrible? The font styles and colors and spacing is usually what kill them IMHO.

Good point and I agree.

There are always the clients who "think" they can do it and when all is said and done many times call a skilled designer to "fix" the result of their attemp.

I myself try to focus my client prospects on the custom design and personal touch aspect of what I offer. Service and communication that they don't get from the "big" companies that work on numbers.

Just to catch that percent I offer a template series that they can look through and I'll adapt it to their personal site need.

It depends on who your clients are. A site builder can never rival professional design, but not everyone needs professional design. Sometimes people just need to throw up a resume site, or toss some photo albums on the web. Some sites are 90% content, and 10% looking pretty.

One thing site builders do is they tend to force non-professionals to organize their content, resulting in a site that is well organized and easy to navigate, if not pretty.

It all just depends on what you need.
