Hi all, I registered 5 domain names with 1and1 , it has been more that 12 Hours since registration. But I have not heard back from them.... not even a single
e-mail. I’m concerned........ I checked with my bank and the amount has been transferred to 1and1...... Is this the usual time they take to get back or is their reason for concern....

Did you contact them? Did you do a whois on the domain names and see if they're registered?

You won't get anything from 1and1. Did you check the control panel and whois to see if the domains are there? if so, no worry.

1and1 does not send out an acknowledgment email, the domain just shows up instantly in your control panel when you go to Domains. For a while it will show up with a pending status like "waiting for registration" or something like that.

Nutshelled, go to your control panel, look around for the word Domains, click it and you will see your domains.

Thank you for the suggestion, but I cannot login to control panel .... I havent received any e-mail containing my log in name (customer ID) .... got it?
After registration their web page read - "il be receiving e-mail containing my customer ID used to login"....... and I have not received any from past 24 hours ..... and spoke to one of their support and they told me it could take another 24 hours....

Call them up again and this time, say that you want to talk to a supervisor. If you get lucky, sometimes the supervisor does it immediately. Also, check your spam box, it might just be in there. you never know =]

after log call nearly 20 min .. the support person connected me to a supervisor who told they are having some issues and that is the reason for the delay and told me that domain names will be set up in next 3-4 hours. I checked today morning and finally after "2 days" , my domain was setup.... it was a bad experiense with 1and1.com

Setting up domains can take as long as 48 hours. I believe it even says it after the domains are purchased.

Only 2 days... C'mon! that's like a loss of 4 visitors? or none.

I agree, compared to my experience with GoDaddy I think 1and1 takes long time
