You Know some of these posts in the many threads on this site about CW are just plain crap. The are posted by people that have no accounts on CW, are just trying to scare people, if you see a post bashing CW and links to there hosting company is pasted all over the footer of the post, well take that for what its worth.

If you are a costumer of CW and are fed up, please get a refund and move on, simple as that.

I'm not saying you don't have a right to be mad, You Do. but let me tell you I have been screwed by other hosting companies that I was paying much more for, much more on a monthly basis.

I am screwed by Certihost.com, I signed up they provided 50% uptime the first month, said they fixed the problem, billed me for the next month, 5 days later removed my account and redirected my traffic. Online support was a 404, I sent 8 emails, no response, then they billed me again. I am still trying to get a hold of these people, I have sent so many emails but they just ignore them. There whois info is all false. Now that's a rip-off.

Know matter who you deal with you are taking a chance. The fact that CW has a chat room and a status page shows a lot compared to many hosts.

I have many accounts with Cyberwings that are at RS and running fine, I am going to wait it out, and when things turn around I'll be getting the same service that many of you are paying $10 to $20 a month for. I'm willing to wait and see.

I have a few cyberwings accounts, the most important ones are @ rackshack, thank god. Im hopefull this wont be the end of CW, but that said I am doing daily backups just in case...

The reason that you are not that upset is because you are hosted on a RackShack server. I would not be that upset if my site is still functional because it is on a RS server.

Let see how you would feel if you are NOT on a RS server.

and I do fully realize that if I felt the need to get them up and running ASAP I can goto another host.
Even redirect them to a free host. until CW gets back online.
After all this is the Internet, not only should you have a back-up, you should a back-up plan.

Rumor has it Rackshack started deactivating servers around 3:30PM your sites still up and running? (I'm just curious to see if the info is true).

cwstatus.com is still up and running. So, I'd assume that isn't the case. Never know though...

If some one sucks, I don't have to wait untill they screw me to be upset about it. Every time one host screws people, it makes the entire hosting biz look just a little bit more cheesey. Therefore, other people including hosts do have a say in "who sucks" or not.

As far as I can see, the only agenda is rectifying the problem wrought by Cyberwings. A number of us happen to be hosts, however, we follows strict rules and would only offer our services if asked to do so outside these discussions. Evidence would suggest, however, that you have an agenda.

This would be strange: "I will stick up for my host when my sites are down"
This wouldn't be: "I'll be getting the same service that many of you are paying $10 to $20 a month for"
If you are paying less than $10, your sites may not be important to you, so no wonder you are not bothered by the down time.

i was happy with cw for the short time it ran for me too.. now im not cause i have no sites up and pretty unbelieveable explanations..

Well, there is not a hosting company that can gurantee 100% uptime. Back-up, redirect, what ever it takes to keep your site up, Thats up to you.

The point I'm trying to make is most hosting companies that rip people off will not leave chat rooms and status pages for people.

If your not happy, put in for a refund, move on.

All the best con artists con people and disappear without the victim ever knowing they were conned. They may wonder. They may suspect. But they don't know. A really good one (not Shawn) would leave no trace of a con at all...

Yes, there was a chat room. But really, that seemed to me to be more of a lame attempt to give the appearance of being on the up and up.

Cyberwings caters to a totally different market than I do as a host, so my commenting about this situation has nothing to do with trying to steal Shawn's business. I spent quite a bit of time in #cyberwings watching what was going on. It was a total fiasco. A lame con job at it's worst. Aimed to fuel the 'believers' and get people to throw more money down a bottomless hole.

Cyberwings may well come back. One never knows. However, the fact remains that Shawn LIES about almost everything involved with his company. And he didn't even have the respect or common courtesy to tell you people the truth about what has been happening. That's reprehensible.

People like Shawn White make all of our jobs harder. They make a mockery of our industry and cause distrust among all of our potential customers. That, personally makes me angry.

Innovator? Well, that's up to you to decide, if more hosting companies put up chat-rooms, status (update) pages, and easy refunds, maybe.

They have provided good service with my plesk accounts until this F-up. and still provide good service with my cobalt accounts.

I hope it dose work out so I may continue to try out new sites and give friends and family free hosting, which other wise I would not do.

As to a con job, well, The next week or so will tell, I can wait, being you don't have an account there I guess you can wait to.

If your a account holder that can not wait, request a refund and move on. really quite simple.

Unfortunately, it's not quite that simple. Many of these people are waiting for MYSQL dumps that they have no access to.

There was a statement above that this site is a great resource, well resources provide facts, truth, all you have to do is look at other threads to see thats a bunch of crap.

I think that its a very legitim right to complain, insult or whatever they want, they has been F-ed by a host.

Fantastic question Gorgar. Though I wasn't pointing out my concern for people's databases as much as I was pointing out your lack thereof.

We do not make any blanket guarantees as to data loss. If that's the only thing you picked out of my rather thoughtful posts directed towards you, I feel sorry for you.

Easy Refunds! Perhaps for some not for me. I did the sillest thing I have ever done. I fell for the hype when I knew better. I started out slow two $3.90/year individual accounts. Then during the faithful (or is that faithless) birthday sale I bought a "lifetime" AYW plan for $40 and then 2x "Zap" for $45. $85 and nothing to show for it for almost a month now. No response to emails, no site, just many many missed promises. Last night in the chat room when I brought this all up I was told "Shawn gives his personal gurantee that CW will be up this weekend." I responded that I heard that same tripe last weekend.

You see, if this were a legit company Shawn would be in that chat room begging for forgivness and giving real updates. But yet he comes blowing in talking about lawyers monitoring the channel for libel and demanding support for his sham company. I give up.

By the way THANKS to Gary at Dixiesys for being prompt, courtesy, and delivering the goods when I needed it.
