I want to get WHMCS to manage customer helpdesk/tickets.
The problem is that the knowledgebase built into WHMCS is very crude and I want to have a more elaborate system (with how-to's, tutorials, video etc.)
I use a CMS that has a knowledgebase extension but want to put the KB in a password protected area.
But then the user has to remember two passwords: one for the knowledgebase and one for WHMCS.
Is there a way to have a single signon for WHMCS and my CMS?
Thanks.

There's something in their knowledgebase on their website about adding more client area pages. Take a look at that.

Uh, you can already do that type of "elaborate" setup with whmcs. I already have over 200 how-to's, videos, and tutorials in my whmcs kb. All neatly organized in categories and subcategories.

I am curious, why would you want to password-protect your knowledgebase? I think it looks good to potential customers to see the support resources that you offer.

You can use the KB that comes with WHMCS and if you want to password protect your KB page you can use the {if $loggedin} tags.

I want to include video tutorials and this would reduce bandwidth.

honestly, your not looking at much of a bandwidth increase from general public. Its completely worth the increase in visitors to your site.

Plaster your business over all the tutorials and the extra bandwidth usage would be worth the extra advertising.

I think it's fine to protect some of KB pages, with "sensitive information" to prevent anonymous visitor reading 'em.
Some hosts wouldn't want to display phpinfo page/link to public

I was just looking at Kayako Supportsuite and they have a KB.
Can you add images and style it with HTML? Their website does not make this apparent.
Thanks.

Right, but thats not the content were talking about.

Why not try it first, you obviously already have the product. If you tried, you would see that WHMCS has a WYSIWYG and its very easy to do formatting and add images.

I like how John Lewis integrate Kayako and WHMCS on his site (http://allurehost.com), but I don't know if it's a single login or not.

You can add images to KB articles using HTML codes. Currently the software does not allow you to insert images using form uploads. I believe this shall be added in v4.
