Simple question: doing a WHOIS on my domain it says I'm the registrant but not the administrative contact. Do I have to be the admin contact to transfer it to another registrar?
Thanks...

VoxKeysGtr 07-17-2002, 02:16 PM unless you do the faxing of documents back and forth thing, in case your address is no longer working. Check with your registrar for their specific requirements. Good luck! :) DotComster 07-18-2002, 05:54 AM It mostly depends on your registrar and their reseller - but being the Admin contact is vital. Sorry Werpon, more info required, PM if you really don't want to post here. Werpon 07-18-2002, 05:55 PM Registrar: doteasy.com through Verisign I've asked them but they answered: For the past year, Doteasy has been providing domain registration services for you in partnership with our ICANN accredited registrar partner Registrars.com. Domain names are registered by Doteasy through Registrars.com and Doteasy handles all sales and servicing issues. Last year Registrars.com has been acquired by Verisign and in the recent weeks all domains under our management have been transferred into Verisign's system. After migration of domain names to Verisign we have discovered that all domain admin contacts have used Doteasy as default and cannot be changed. I can't believe this, so I've used their automated service to ask them again. thewitt 07-18-2002, 06:01 PM You will have to call Verisign for support. We recently went through one of these. Very painful. Many hours on hold on behalf of the customer, then faxed proof of domain ownership and ultimately the transferred occured. What really ragged me off however, is that this customer was a domain trader who used us to get the domain away from Verisign and then transferred it into his own management account at another registrar when he could. Apparently his registrar was not able to pull the domain away successfully... Call them wait on hold, and keep calling until you get someone who will help you. Good luck, -t Werpon 07-18-2002, 06:20 PM Call them wait on hold, and keep calling until you get someone who will help you. From Europe? Not sure if it's worth the effort and the money... I hope Doteasy can solve it. Thanks anyway... DotComster 07-19-2002, 04:13 PM NetSol again :( They do transfers, but you might have to repeat requests again and again - good thing it's free :) Try www.GoDaddy.com www.Joker.com if DotEasy can't do the transfer within 5 trys. Werpon 07-20-2002, 07:11 AM I asked Doteasy to change my info and they told me they will contact Verisign and change it. I hope it works... |
