We are looking to sell off our shared-hosting operation to the highest bidder, we have a shared-hosting client base of approximately 2,200 customers, 60% are retail users and 40% are resellers (multiple accounts). A majority of these customers are located within the United States or Canada.

The shared-hosting operation runs on four dedicated servers co-located in Pennsylvania, their specs are: 1Ghz CPU, 512MB RAM, 60GB HDD, Red Hat Linux 7.2 running CPanel/WHM

A propriety billing system that is integrated into CPanel is included with the acquisition, as well as an account management system.

We are asking for 1x revenues and a full upfront acqusition of this client-base.

Who's your datacenter and bandwidth providers? How much are your customers paying? IOW, what are their plans?

People must know the above first because if prices are raised, all customers could jump ship.

Also, what's your revenues? Can we buy the customers and not your equipment? Are you willing to split the customer base if I only wanted 300 of them?

Yep, I noted that too, and with 40% of them being resellers makes it even worse. On top of that, his servers don't exactly have the best specs either.

The first question any of us should ask is "Why are you wanting to sell?" and hope that we get an honest reply.

depends on what type of sites they are and the load on the box. They might be simple low usage sites. Put me on a server like that with 1000+ small sites than 20 big resource hoggers. :eek:

Our server configurations are capable of handling up to 600 accounts each without signifigant performance issues... beyond that however, we've found that it is generally not recommended for the configuration used.

We are looking to sell because we are moving into the managed hosting arena and would rather focus our efforts there.

As I gather from many other hosts on this thread, you used your misinformation and spam against others as well. If you had respected the industry, our clients, and our business, I would not have disclosed what I just did.

We acquired these customers from the previous owners of openhsp.com two months ago. Jag's comments were premature, unresearched, and violated a request for confidentiality. He has since removed his post upon our request realizing his mistake.

I requested quite clearly that all correspondence should be kept private... instead, members decide to take matters into their own hands and post blatant attacks and libel against us, about matters of which they know nothing about except what they can fabricate.

We are simply trying to find an acquirer for this customer base. If you are not interested, then move on.

Curious, why are you posting AIM chat logs (a private conversation) ? I would think based on the chat we had and this comment above you would not have taken that route, your destroying your own thread here.

I edited my post the other day but it doesnt change what occured from the spammers. You already explained that you are not that same company that caused that incident so if I were you I would just move on with your sale.
