Quick suggestion if you do not want to sell it for $50.00 then do not offer or start the bidding at that. Set your min sale price = bid price and then see if you get that or more.

You offered the first template, I started the bidding at $30.00, you said I was winning and now you are putting it back up for bid again.

While I agree the template is worth more than $30.00 do not offer it at that price if you are not willing to sell it. I just find it bad business practice to offer something at one price and then not honor the bid cause you want to get more. I would have bid more or started higher had you said you wanted more or gotten more bids. So if you are not willing to sell the second with flash for $50.00 start it out at what you are willing to take and go from there.

Good Suggestion!

But sometimes you need to know what the templates worth first of all and find out what the people here are willing to spend. As I see I don't think there will be many people here willing to pay what I'd ask. Therefor I start out low and if it gets somewhere to what I was thinking there we go. Other wise I will do what I did with the last one. Put it back up and by then if no one is interested I will probably give it to the last offer made (you) for what you had offered.

Thanks though!

Ill still be contacting you. What do you think that template is worth by the way?

Well honestly I would have given you $125.00 for the template, but I withdraw my offer now as that is not the way I like to do business.

Thanks anyway.

Thanks for the honesty but as of doing business. Well I can switch this up on you. Instead of putting such a low price why did you just not put what you thought it was worth? You see my point. It goes both ways. Yah I started bid at $0 but I didn't expect anyone to go cheap. I mean hey it was a good template I didn't expect for people to start bidding in the two digit #'s. Or at least so cheap! You knew that I would not give you a template worth way over $30. You should have put up what you could afford and what YOU were willing to pay. Thats what im looking for here.

This is an auction why would I bid my highest offer to to start?

If someone said they wanted to sell you a car for $100.00 would you offer $500.00 instead?

It's your template you sell it however you want, I like to deal with people that are up front. If you had wanted more you could have written me back and said hey $30 is too low can you bump your offer. Instead you clearly stated I was the winner bidder. So I passed up other templates I would have bid on and bought, thinking I was commited to yours.

But hey good luck with your auction.

actually there were two excellent suggestions made in this thread...

1. made by monte about suggesting the reserve price be the price the designer expects as his minimum price.

2. made by variablea about requesting everyone not to pm bids but to post them in the thread for all to see.

i think there should be a rule made that there should always be a time bound auction and that the winner bidder should always be entitled to the product or service.

thats how auctions are held basically in real life. also, all bids should be made transparent. because thats how bidding is done on the real floor... someone must make a bid visibly. period.

Monte, no actually you are 100% wrong. If he has a a mark, he wont sale untill it is reached, or surpassed he dosen't have to sale. It's called reserved bidding. Ebay, does this in the same way, and most ebay sellers do this, so looks like i guess you don't like "ebays" style of bidding either ? Why is reserved bidding set in place ? Say your putting up a brand new 2.4GHz williamete cpu, its retail price is worth 400+ or in that general area. Now if someone bidded $30.00 such as you on this, and the auctioner had it reserved at 350.00, you wouldn't get the 2.4GHz williamete cpu. So I, advise, before you go around saying "I don't like people's style". You may want to research "RESERVED BIDDING" say it with me now "RESERVED BIDDING". Now, how you were saying i withdrawl my bid:eek:? On ebay you just can't cancel your bid. If you bid for more money then you can pay tough luck. You have two choices. A. BUY it with a loan if you dont have enough money:stickout . Or B. Don't buy it, and avoid, and TRY, can withdrawl, but when you dont pay and the auctioner gets mad, of little kids doing this. He tells ebay, and in this since, ebay is web hosting talk, so I'll let the mods decide if someone will be getting banned today;). Now down, to biz you, and I both know this template is worth 150+. So real offers, please for this person. Good luck on the auction VariableA, and excelent work!;)

First of all, lets get a few things straight, as I am just a neutral 3rd party...

First of all, yes Ebay as "Reserved Bidding", but that also means the seller has to put up a "reserved price". If someone starts the bidding at $0, then that usually means they will take any offer, whatever the highest offer is. If he had a reserved price, then he should have clearly started the bidding at that price.

Secondly, if you would have read the whole thread, it was clearly stated that VariableA told Monte that he had the "winning bid", if he didn't want to sell it at that price, he should have never stated he had the "winning bid".

Thats not true I never told monte he was the winner. I told him so far he is the winner meaning SO FAR. He read it wrong I should have said that earlier. I've emailed that to him already and he should notice it didnt mean he wont bam he gets the template. Again I said it was so far you are winning and I told him I would keep him updated.

Sorry to intrude on your thread...but there's no such thing as a 2.4 GHz Willamete p4...only a Northwood 2.4 GHz.

And yes...I am a geek :stickout

Back on topic, those are very nice templates!

No, first, of all you are WRONG 100%. On ebay, the auctioner has the choice, to say or not say "reserved bidding", that is that way, so he dosent get offers just enough to go over the belt, and win as easy, as if it said reserved.

Secondly, VariableA never did say, that he won. If he would have one, don't you think he would have closed the auction here? YES. VariableA clearly, stated in plain english, that he said SO FAR, SO FAR, not meaning YOU ARE, but SO FAR. Meaning at the present time.

Now, thirdly 2.4GHz Williamete CPU's ARE coming out, and that was just an example.

Yes, it is ok to be a geek:D.

I guess am out of this :(

Just got an email from VariableA requesting over $100 for the template that is suppose to be auctioned here with me the highest bidder at $50 :(

Well, if you can't accept the bidding price, don't start an auction, just request a fixed price for it.
